Ok, one final question on processing. For "packet 4"/notification to be able to schedule an interview in Frankfurt, Germany, is the notification through email, travel docs, or mail? Just want to make sure we are looking out for the correct notification route. Or if anyone know a good forum to follow on this Embassy that would be super helpful too :)

From my understanding, all you will use/need from this point forward is the case number the NVC gave you. I read somewhere that the invoice number is used to fill out the DS-260, but since we are K1 applicants and fill out the DS-160 the invoice # is not needed for us. We never received an invoice number. Just the case # and USCIS receipt #.

The invoice number is the WAC# and is on the NOA1 and NOA2. You can use it for the DS-160 or use the case number, both will work.

BTW there is never a "final" question on processing. :D

The P4 will usually come via email. And is sent to the beneficiary.

For the forum for your region/country. Go to the top of the page to the blue bar and you will see "forum" as one of the selections. Select it and scroll 3/4 of the way down the page and then chose what matches closely for you. https://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/95-europe-amp-eurasia-except-the-uk-and-russia/

Please, Please ask your questions pertaining to your embassy in the above link. There are so many experts that can help you.

I also received an invoice number at the same time I was given my case number and  it is different from the WAC#. Our invoice number is an eight digit number 430XXXXX and if I remember correctly, it was need to pay for the MRV fees for the DS-160.

IRS transcript OR W2s and 1040, not both. S/B IRS transcript with W2 OR W2s and 1040. The W2 is required for either method of showing taxes paid.

Incorrect, according to the instructions.  I copied the instruction below from page 8 of the I-864 instructions because I-134 instructions do not specify (transcript vs 1040):

Quote

You must provide either an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) transcript or a photocopy from your own records of your Federal individual income tax return for the most
recent tax year.

 ...

If you provide a photocopy of your Federal individual income tax returns, you must include a copy of each and every Form W-2 and Form 1099 that relates to your returns.  Do not include copies of these forms if you provide an IRS transcript

The reason for this is the Transcript is a receipt and confirmation of income, and has all tax information logging in the system at the IRS.   The earned income figure on a 1040 is manually entered (for paper and PDF 1040 forms).  You need W2's with the copy of the 1040 as actual verification of earned income.

I've tried hitting save/continue, but when I go back, it's gone.  If you save the file off-line, can you edit it in PDF or something?  Even then, I'd be worried that the DS-160 online isn't totally filled out.. I assume at the embassy they look through it via computer and probably aren't printing a million ds-160's off or they will compare my copy printed with what is online.

I've used 2 different computers, 2 different browsers, and cleared cookies. I'm good with computers but not sure what to do technically speaking now.  #annoyed

Any other suggestions, or should I contact the embassy at this point?

Your experience may be different so I am unable to comment as I also have not see your document that our referencing.  There are no fees to file the DS-160. The MRV fee is for the interview.

This is what most Embassy use in their P3 letter to the beneficiary. I would make the case for the OP to include the W2 in which format that tax documents are submitted. I personally don't want to be the reason for a 221(g). Just saying.

EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT. You should be able to demonstrate that you will not become a public charge or be a burden on the U.S. taxpayers for financial support. A completed I-134 Affidavit of Support Form K1/K2 Interview Preparation Instructions – English (February 2014)  Page 3 of 9 with an original signature will be useful to the consular officer to evaluate your petitioner’s ability to be financially responsible for you. You should also submit your petitioner’s most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (Form 1040) and wage statements (Form W-2). Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements may be included to substantiate the I-134. Get the IRS transcript in place of the actual 1040 here: https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript Use this link to determine the income levels needed https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p.

Yes, that sounds about right Greenbaum. During the process of paying the MRV fees for both my fiancée and her daughter, the invoice number was used. I was not able to schedule the interview until a few days later. But everything is fine.

I believe the last statement to mean either 1040 (with W2) or Transcript - I personally submitted only the Transcript for the I-134 that I gave to my fiance, and the embassy in Kyiv had no issues.

But like you state, an over-abundance of caution is better than someone at the embassy using that statement verbatim.  Agreed it is better to include W2 with Transcript.
