I think there are 2 topics here that are getting mixed up.

1.  Original I-134 vs copy I-134.   Depends on the embassy.  Most will demand the original (with the petitioner's wet signature), some may accept a copy.  Usually they want the original, the petitioner can keep a copy for his/her records.

2.  W2 and 1040 as proof of income for I-134.   By default, you cannot submit the original 1040 - that has to go to the IRS.  You may have multiple originals of W2s, depending on how your employer sends them, where you could spare one for I-134.   Copies of W2s and 1040s should be with the I-134.   Better yet the IRS transcript, because that proves the IRS has your tax return filed and in their system.

So u mean that it's better to submit IRS transcripts than W2s and 1040? Or shud I submit copies of IRS transcripts, W2s and 1040 whatever is available.

My fiance has not filed the tax returns for 2018 yet as was employed in Qatar till June 2018 and started working in US just two months back. What shud be done in such cases. What supporting documents shud be given?

IRS transcript OR W2s and 1040, not both.

2018 Taxes are not due until 15 April.  You do not have to prove income for 2018 unless you submit I-134 after 15 April.

The most current tax return would be 2017 until 15 April.

Hey guys! Question:

Last Friday DHL notified me that the physical copies had arrived at the embassy. However, I've just emailed the Embassy asking about it and they told me that they have only received the electronic copy and they're expecting to receive the physical one soon.

Was there a mistake from DHL's end? I'm starting to think the papers got lost

Sometimes the electronic file arrives before the paper file. The paper file is probably in the building but has not been checked in nor has it been given to the CO who will adjudicate your case. So the status has not been set to "ready" therefore.

Hi guys, we got approved in january 18 so I'm waiting to discover myNVC number, then what should I signed into the NVC website? I didn't understand from the previous post how to check if my case leave the US for naples, should I check the Waybill number in the DHL results?

I really hope it will not take an eternity to the rest of the process!!

How did you track it?

DHL

9. Tracking your case file that's in transit to your Embassy. Go to www.dhl.com click Express then Tracking, then Track by Shipper's Reference, and on this page you add your search information. You change the day and month to what you think your package might have left NVC or call NVC to get the date your package had left NVC in route to your Embassy then go to the DHL website and enter the following information:

EXAMPLE:

* Shipper´s Reference : EXP 24 MAR 2011A (This is the date you think it left NVC, just substitute the date and leave everything else as is)

* Date range for shipment - From: 23 - 03 - 2011

* Date range for shipment - To: 26 - 03 - 2011

Account Number - Leave this blank

Shipment Destination: Philippines (Works for any country Just replace your country where the Embassy is located using the drop down

DS-160 is nearly complete.

My issue is that when I try to update the ds-160 now, the updates don't take.   Tried chrome, diff computer, and browser.   Not missing anything UBER critical, but would like to submit it at 100% and not 99%.  Any suggestions?
