Same doubt. However, I wanna know if I need to submit the original W-2s and 1040 to the embassy? And if yes, do they return those original W-2s and 1040s back? 😁

Just above and below I am having a discussion with UJones about the same topic. ORIGINALS. See if that helps explain it for you.

Original documents required by beneficiary and copies of documents for petitioner.

Affidavit of support is only asking for petitioners income details & employment details right? Yes and they can be copies (copies are when the P  sends by email to B and B prints off in their country which now is a copy and not an original from the P and is used at the interview) unless it's stated in the P3 that originals are required from P which usually is the I-134. USCIS can see all the information that P submitted for the I-129f because the US have excellent record keeping where has other country's they maybe in the past they have had a doubt about the B papers being original.

Your overthink this process. If you follow everything asked for in the P3 you are not going to have a problem. Use the P3 as a check list.

What I have understood from this is that u need to submit the I-134 form with wet ink (which means the original) and rest of the the supporting documents  that goes along with the form like W-2s, 1040, employment letter, paystubs can be copies (print outs of the original document or scanned document).

Correct me if I am wrong. :)

The I-134 is accepted by some embassy with a copy and others require a wet signature. You have to check your P3 once you have one to see what your embassy requires. I would recommend emailing them and asking the question then you have written proof of what they ask. Everything else that you stated is correct.

It definitely varies from country to country quite a bit at times. For Sydney consulate in Australia, there is a checklist with P4 and the I-134 + supporting docs specifically says "Copy only". (see image below)

I'd follow EXACTLY what your specific embassy requires, and if you can't find a definitive answer - go with original/wet signatures because those are the "safe" option. I would also provide your fiance with electronic copies as well, as a back up.

If the embassy has stated in their P3 "this is how it works" then that is "how it works". I have seen folks who have tried to go around what the Embassy requires and like a flyswatter on a fly, Boom your dead, because they just canceled your appointment and they still require you to follow their instructions. You go to the back of the line and you have one cancelled appointment.  Now you have something happen on the second appointment and further down the road and you cancel again. Now after two cancelations they put in time out for 90 days and require you to pay your interview fee again.

I hope you see the inherit problem when you try and circumvent your embassy's instructions. I tell people all the time "the one who has the GOLD makes the rules".

@Greenbaum are you suggesting that since I have setup an interview before receiving a P3 email from embassy my scheduled interview might be cancelled?

Does anyone know (for Frankfurt, Germany) if we need to pay the visa fee with packet 3 or if that’s done when we get notified that we can schedule an interview and then pay the visa to schedule it?

In Germany you can pay as soon as you've done your DS-160 (you need your DS number) but you could also wait till shortly before your interview. :)

Same doubt. However, I wanna know if I need to submit the original W-2s and 1040 to the embassy? And if yes, do they return those original W-2s and 1040s back? 😁

I think there are 2 topics here that are getting mixed up.

1.  Original I-134 vs copy I-134.   Depends on the embassy.  Most will demand the original (with the petitioner's wet signature), some may accept a copy.  Usually they want the original, the petitioner can keep a copy for his/her records.

2.  W2 and 1040 as proof of income for I-134.   By default, you cannot submit the original 1040 - that has to go to the IRS.  You may have multiple originals of W2s, depending on how your employer sends them, where you could spare one for I-134.   Copies of W2s and 1040s should be with the I-134.   Better yet the IRS transcript, because that proves the IRS has your tax return filed and in their system.

There is a possibility that could happen. I have seen it before but that was because the applicants didn't follow the directions from their embassy.
