It really depends on the consulate and personal circumstances as to what is needed for financial documentation.  I asked the visa unit in an email as to what they needed based on our situation and they gave me a great effort-saving response.  U might check the country-specific section here and consulate reviews, and/or just ask them directly.

Thanks. There isn't anything for my embassy on VJ. Guess I have to check with the embassy.

My fiance and I were able to fill out the DS-160 once our case was ready at Abu Dhabi Embassy. Now, we went ahead and paid the visa fee and scheduled the last available interview date on calendar Feb 27th. Is it possible for my fiance to go to the New Center in Abu Dhabi to have the medical done before we get the P3 email? we found information here on the medical https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/iv-dv-supplemental/ABD - Abu-Dhabi.pdf

They need W2s and 1040 in original or copies?

No. Original is required for Beneficiary and copies are ok for Petitioner. Check your embassy instructions for a more detailed explanation.

EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT. You should be able to demonstrate that you will not become a public charge or be a burden on the U.S. taxpayers for financial support. A completed I-134 Affidavit of Support Form K1/K2 Interview Preparation Instructions – English (February 2014)  Page 3 of 9 with an original signature will be useful to the consular officer to evaluate your petitioner’s ability to be financially responsible for you. You should also submit your petitioner’s most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (Form 1040) and wage statements (Form W-2). Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements may be included to substantiate the I-134. Get the IRS transcript in place of the actual 1040 here: https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript Use this link to determine the income levels needed https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p.

@Greenbaum, I’m sorry got a little confused by “ original is required by beneficiary & copies for petitioner “.. what does that mean ? Affidavit of support is only asking for petitioners income details & employment details right ? Or do we need to produce beneficiary details too ?

Same doubt. However, I wanna know if I need to submit the original W-2s and 1040 to the embassy? And if yes, do they return those original W-2s and 1040s back? 😁

Yes, there's a bunch of things to do before booking, but maybe there is a way. Just curious

If the embassy has stated in their P3 "this is how it works" then that is "how it works". I have seen folks who have tried to go around what the Embassy requires and like a flyswatter on a fly, Boom your dead, because they just canceled your appointment and they still require you to follow their instructions. You go to the back of the line and you have one cancelled appointment.  Now you have something happen on the second appointment and further down the road and you cancel again. Now after two cancelations they put in time out for 90 days and require you to pay your interview fee again.

I hope you see the inherit problem when you try and circumvent your embassy's instructions. I tell people all the time "the one who has the GOLD makes the rules".

Original documents required by beneficiary and copies of documents for petitioner.

Affidavit of support is only asking for petitioners income details & employment details right? Yes and they can be copies (copies are when the P  sends by email to B and B prints off in their country which now is a copy and not an original from the P and is used at the interview) unless it's stated in the P3 that originals are required from P which usually is the I-134. USCIS can see all the information that P submitted for the I-129f because the US have excellent record keeping where has other country's they maybe in the past they have had a doubt about the B papers being original.

Your overthink this process. If you follow everything asked for in the P3 you are not going to have a problem. Use the P3 as a check list.
