Hi everyone I have a question about the DS 160, on the form it asks you “have you ever been issued a US visa before” and I’m wondering if the ESTA counts as a US visa, even though you don’t take an interview or get anything stamped in your passport for it.

It's not a Visa, so you should say no unless you have had any other type of Visa, eg. B1, B2, K1, H-1B, etc.

Okay my final question I talked to my fiancé and she is going to fly in to help me. But in my I129f I put my adoptive mother under my family information as well as my ds160. When I go to the interview i plan to bring my birth certificate that has my real mother’s name and my adoption paperwork. Does anyone think it would be a problem? I also wrote down my nickname on my I129f because my fiancé calls me by it in our messages and on social media but on my ds160 it asked about professional alias. And I said no. I’m not sure if this will cause any issue

hey guys here's the update of my timeline

2018/07/17 NOA1

2018/12/08 NOA2

2019/01/08 NVC case#

2019/01/08 NVC In trasit

2019/01/10 NVC Ready

2019/01/16 NVC Updated Ready (TW time)

I've made a mistake that I rushed the visa payment as I learned that it said ready haha.

Luckily the payment record will be saved up a year at our embassy.

I'm hoping the updated on 1/16 is our embassy got my case and ready to email my fiance the packet 3!

My fiance' is in Taiwan, too.  I get my case# on 01/02/2019.  I wish my timeline will be smooth as yours.  Good Luck.

Unless noted ALWAYS use your legal name and NEVER nicknames like honey bunch.

There should be no problems at the interview if the adoptive paperwork and your birth certificate can be tied back to the I-129f and DS-160.

CASE RECEIVED!! I just got off the phone with the NVC, our case was JUST scanned into their system a few hours ago!!! I actually screamed on the phone and told the lady this was the best news and that she made my day!! lol!

It took exactly 6 weeks for the NVC to receive our approved i129f petition from USCIS. What a ride, I've been so stressed out by this wait.
Anywhos, onwards! :D I'll check next week to see about a case #.

@Greenbaum and anyone else that cares. I found out what the NVC invoice number is for. It is used when you upload immigrant paperwork into the CEAC system before the interview. Since the K1 visa is classified as non-immigrant the invoice number does not apply.

Um no. I was letting Greenbaum know what the NVC invoice number is used for. I completed my DS160 back in November.

Your on the wrong page. Use this page https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=WwjqOlbeRYzCYubaSQI+RA for case status and you select immigrant and then enter your case number.

Oh I know, my case was received Monday. I was just nosing around their website and stumbled on that. I saw a lot of posts wondering what the NVC invoice number was for so I thought I would share.
