Make sure you figure out where the approved doctor is that can do his medical, I know on the South island the only one located in Christchurch... Better than Auckland when fiancée is in Dunedin but still XD

 

Important: Police certificates expire after one year, unless the certificate was issued from your country of previous residence and you have not returned there since the police certificate was issued. If at the time of your interview the following three items are all true, you must bring a new police certificate to your visa interview:

You are more than 16 years old;

The police certificate submitted to NVC was obtained more than one year ago; and

You still live in the country that issued the certificate.

We applied for her certificates just this month, because she needed one from Japan from a foreign exchange trip and that one is supposed to take 2-3 months.

Our case was put into 'In-Transit' on the 8th Jan, following the shipment from the 8th Jan on DHL shows that the delivery was successful in London on the 11th Jan. Is there any estimate as to how long it'll take the embassy to process the latest batch and switch to 'Ready' status?

Usually less then 2 weeks but like every other timeline your mileage may vary.

Hi,

 

We received our NVC case number on Jan 10th 2019. We were told that our application will be sent fairly quickly to the embassy in Nigeria. My fiance tried to schedule his interview ahead of time and when he tried the website stated that there were no appointment dates at the time. 

 

Should we call the embassy to understand why there are no appointment dates or wait till we get the email notification that the application is at the embassy?

 

PS- we did not get any email with our case number from NVC we called and got it via the phone.

Spain requires the embassy send the packet 3 which allows the beneficiary to schedule and attend the medical and needs to be brought to the medical appointment, and in order to book the interview Spain requires packet 4. I have not verified this but this information came from someone who processed recently.

 

A wet signature is not required for the I-134 that will be presented at the interview.

No need to call the embassy. Nigeria is a very difficult and untimely place to have your visa adjudicated. You're receiving that message when scheduling because the calendar is full and if it were not it would only show current open and only one month. 

 

Scheduling the interview can take 1 to 3 months. Once you pay the $265 visa fee at GTB Bank, you can go online to schedule an appointment at www.ustraveldocs.com You can get the forms online at http://nigeria.usembassy.gov/immigrant_visa_forms.html No need to go to the consulate to pick up forms. Download forms if unexpired or get current versions of same forms. Email LagosIV@state.gov for your interview date.

It's not the timeline as much as it is the embassy. Return back to the page and seek out "edit profile" on the right side and scroll down to "immigration" info and change the country to the country where you will complete the interview.
