Just checked the status of my case on the ceac site and I got a message saying it’s at the NVC and I must complete the “six steps” and pay fees as stated in the email they sent. Only I never received an email from them detailing any steps I was supposed to complete. I called yesterday and they provided a case number. But I wasn’t aware I was suppose to complete anything before my petition left for the embassy?

That's incorrect information. You will have nothing more to do with NVC from this day forward. All your dealings will be with your consulate.

Our case is in transit to Frankfurt. :)

NOA2 Dec 4

NVC received Dec 17

Case # Dec 26

Transit Jan 8

Also, the message that says the nvc has notified us of an interview date is solely on the fact that it’s considerd an immigration visa correct?

Yes.

Does anyone know the specific documents needed for evidence for the affidavit of support? I’ve just been collecting my documents in preparation for the interview and my fiancé only has tax information available from the last two years. I have a letter of employment from his work, detailing salary and permanent position and bank statements. But I know many people say to bring W2 and 1040’s for the last 3 years so I was concerned this may not be enough if we only have the last two recent years. Thanks in advance!

EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT. You should be able to demonstrate that you will not become a public charge or be a burden on the U.S. taxpayers for financial support. A completed I-134 Affidavit of Support Form K1/K2 Interview Preparation Instructions – English (February 2014)  Page 3 of 9 with an original signature will be useful to the consular officer to evaluate your petitioner’s ability to be financially responsible for you. You should also submit your petitioner’s most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (Form 1040) and wage statements (Form W-2). Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements may be included to substantiate the I-134. Get the IRS transcript in place of the actual 1040 here: https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript

Two years will be fine for 1040's. I have seen students who just graduated from college and just started working get approved on the employment letter alone.

so either tomorrow or Wednesday, if mine gets sent, it will say In Transit right?  is there any suggested time frame to check?

You can check online at ceac.state.gov enter "immigrant" and your case number and it will give you a current status. You may check again tomorrow, or the next day to see if your status has changed.

Am I missing something?  I was assigned my case # on December 19th.  I thought I heard someone say there was going to be a batch being sent out the week of Christmas?  Was that inaccurate information?   When I check the status it says it is STILL at NVC...

Yes you did miss something, the Christmas shipment. Of course there is another today 1/8 and some on 1/9. Keep checking to see if yours is in "transit".

If you explain the problem, maybe I can help. Yelling FIRE and not telling anyone where the fire is, is nonproductive.

Am not able to find a date for interview for Nigerian Embassy though been checked by finance...so I don't know if there is a particular time to do that.

As someone else who is also awaiting shipment to Colombia, I can tell you that ours was received by NVC on the 12/3, assigned a case number on 12/9, but was not sent out in the shipment Christmas week.  Most people whom I've talked to from Colombia say it takes 4-6 weeks at NVC before it is sent (there are a couple who get lucky and have there's sent in the following shipment right after they are assigned a case number, but most have to wait until the next one).  Hope this helps!

Appears as though I wasn't a lucky one at about 1.5 weeks from case # assigned to having it ship to out of nvc. (NOA2 12/11)   Greenbaum said we may see some more in transit tomorrow though, so fingers crossed!

Greenbaum:  ttps://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/mycasestatus.do  -  this (and the other site) still says 'we've received your case', even though NOA2 (only hard copy) and case number at nvc have been assigned (had to call, no info sent).  Is there a similar situation with information not updated online with nvc, or are they better in this sense?  Aka, I'll get the same answer if I call in a cpl days after all have been sent in the last batch?

jschain:  Glad to hear your case is on it's way to the final step!   When you can access interview dates, I'll be curious to hear what is open in Colombia if you could private msg me?
