Just get NVC case# on Jan 2, 2019.    How long now is taking for next step now?  NVC will send my case to Embassy?

We recommend that you read the entries prior to yours and when you return the next time start where you left off and be up to date with the possibility that you will have an answer before you need to ask your question. Here is an answer that someone who just experienced what you are about to. Their entry is just above yours about two or three. They have given a very valid timeline.

Can you please complete your profile. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline or your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Thanks

Am I missing something?  I was assigned my case # on December 19th.  I thought I heard someone say there was going to be a batch being sent out the week of Christmas?  Was that inaccurate information?   When I check the status it says it is STILL at NVC...

There was a batch sent out at Christmas, but after the case number is assigned it takes several weeks for it to be sent to the embassy, based on background check completions and other factors.  We were assigned a case number on the 9th of December and are still waiting to be sent out. It does not happen as fast as you are expecting. 😕

Cases were indeed shipped on Dec 26, mine was one of them. You should be on the next batch.

I saw a few ppl that got their case number about the same time I did and theirs went out.  thats why I was concerned.

No worries, if you go to the timeline for K1 fiance visas and arrange it by the "NVC Left", you'll see that most of the people sent out in the last batch had their application received by NVC in late November.  A few of the newer people got lucky (like everything with this awful immigration process, there's seemingly a bit of luck involved), but for the most part, you have to wait 3-4 weeks after the case number is received before it is sent out.  Hopefully you and I are both in the upcoming batch!

Does anyone know the specific documents needed for evidence for the affidavit of support? I’ve just been collecting my documents in preparation for the interview and my fiancé only has tax information available from the last two years. I have a letter of employment from his work, detailing salary and permanent position and bank statements. But I know many people say to bring W2 and 1040’s for the last 3 years so I was concerned this may not be enough if we only have the last two recent years. Thanks in advance!

so either tomorrow or Wednesday, if mine gets sent, it will say In Transit right?  is there any suggested time frame to check?

Yes it will say in transit. You may also receive an email from NVC when your case ships. You can check later at night on Tuesday and if not updated,  you can wait till Thursday morning.

Sounds like he has only been working for the last two years, if that's the case I don't think there's anything to worry about. The last two recent years should be sufficient.
