It's one of the numbers that is acceptable when completing the DS-160. You'll find it on the NOA2.

Go to the first page of this thread and the very first post gives you lots of tips to be aware of. One of them answers this question. The reason I posted it first is so that you and others wouldn't ask the question and I or othersΒ wouldn't have to answer it a bazillion times.

Thanks for the great """" Answer""""

Checked my NOA2. Cudnt find anything written as Invoice number. Is there any particular way an invoice number is written? Alphanumeric or certain number of characters in it? Also, where is it placed on NOA2?

If you call NVC they may give it to you along with your case number. No idea what it's for but I wrote it down in case I needed it later

My mistake it's the receipt number on the NOA1 referred to as the WAC number. Sorry.

Ohh! Ok. Btw... I have an alphanumeric 10 characters number on my NOA2. It's next to the beneficiary name. What's that?

Β

Is it Alien number? On I-129F form I saw something called as Alien number. Is this the same?

Three letters and 10 numbers is the case number. A-number isn't issued till the visa is produced.

Well, all i know is that the "Invoice I.D. Number" is the IIN number, its an 8 digit number that you get issued from NVC when you get your case number. So, when you call, ask for this number as well.Β

πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

We got our case number today!!

NVC just received the file Dec 26 and I almost didn't call today because I thought no way they would already assign a case number, haha I'm so glad I did. πŸ™‚

They gave me a case number and invoice number, so I think there is a really good chance our case will be sent in the next shipment on the 9th or 10th.

Best of luck to everyone πŸ™‚
