I am requesting advice. I went to the lady who prepared my petition (k1) to have my i-134 sponsorship papers prepared.

She has started doing the work for the Indian side as well since last month. They call this full service (with i-134) and includes filling DS-160 and scheduling interviews (fingerprinting one and interview) for $400.

My Question is do people generally do this themselves or get professional help??  I am leaning towards doing it (DS160 and scheduling Interviews) myself, but my family is leaning towards letting them do it so we have no headache.

What would you advice?  Should I let them(same people who did my petition/i-134) handle this?

If anybody had recent experience with K1 and Mumbai (india) please share the steps to the interview.

K1 process is simple with lil bit variation when it comes to embassies. There is a lot of content online on the whole K1 process. VJ is one of the sources. U will find many forums, blogs, and even YouTube videos online. Also, ppl here on VJ are kind enough to help each other. They share their experience and also provide tips and tricks from that personal experience. However, u need to have lot of patience and time to research and find out answers for ur questions.

Now it's up to you if u have that much time and patience for doing the research. If u have then do the process by urself and save ur money but if not then u can opt for professional help.

All the best. :)

Follow the instructions on the first page of this topic. U can register with ur email and as well keep calling them, even as the beneficiary. We registered but never received an email regarding the case. I am the beneficiary and got all the information through the phone. Our NOA2 is nov 15, NVC received nov 27 and case number asigned on dec 12. Try ur luck and call them.

Your a little over normal processing time and I advise that you call USCIS and see when it will ship. Details are on the first page first post.

The profile is one way that we are able to help you but your profile currently indicates by way of the Philippines flag that you will be processing through USEM in the Philippines. In your post you reference your embassy is Abu Dhabi UAE. If that is the case you need to go back in and change your embassy so we can give you the most current information for your embassy.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

You can do this process on your own. Most here are doing their visa themselves. There are a lot of tools and many of us here can help or direct you to the source for you to read and ask questions. There is small contingent of Indian's that have a thread where they are helping each other. I'll post the link below and you can read over their information and it may shed some light on how easy this is to do for yourself. We are here to help so ask your questions.

Here is a topic in another forum where those from the Mumbai Consulate are applying with good information.

Abu Dhabi embassy is so busy so it may take a little longer don’t stress. They are busy cos there’s a lot of people who have to use the embassy for visas (cabin crew and pilots/tourist visas/medical visas) because there’s a lot of expats in Abu Dhabi and they all have different visa requirements so the office is usually busy with many different requests. So you have to have a lot of patience with UAE! (I used to live in Abu Dhabi and found this out so went back home to process through London cos it’s quieter haha) but just so you know nothing is wrong- they’re just busy! Good luck!! 🍀

We are assuming they are leaving today but no one of late has indicated such. If you're getting tired  of checking, may I suggest that you just check once or twice during the day as what you are doing is overkill. JMHO. :thumbs:

I would suggest sending an email or call NVC to inquire about the case. The information is in @Greenbaum post on the first page. I sent an email asking them to update my email address and they messaged me back a few days later saying they received our case and then I called a couple days after that and they gave me our case number. If you don't hear anything from NVC it could be because they don't have your email address on file and you wouldn't hear anything until you receive P3 from the Consulate.

We are starting to hear some case files are in "TRANSIT" to the embassies. Here is some information that is fun and will track your shipment to your embassy. It's been reported that the China embassy will get their files in a different manner which hasn't been determined or reported. This information will not be available for 24 hours.

Tracking your case file that's in transit to your Embassy. Go to www.dhl.com click Express then Tracking, then Track by Shipper's Reference, and on this page you add your search information. You change the day and month to what you think your package might have left NVC or call NVC to get the date your package had left NVC in route to your Embassy then go to the DHL website and enter the following information:

EXAMPLE:

* Shipper´s Reference : EXP 24 MAR 2011A (This is the date you think it left NVC, just substitute the date and leave everything else as is)

* Date range for shipment - From: 23 - 03 - 2011

* Date range for shipment - To: 26 - 03 - 2011

Account Number - Leave this blank

Shipment Destination: Philippines (Works for any country Just replace your country where the Embassy is located using the drop down box)

I hope these tips help you along your Journey. So, let’s share our experiences, our tips and ask questions.

Hello I am on the same boat noa2 nov 21 and they still have not received it next week will be 6 weeks. I called uscis and they said I have to wait 90 days before they can put in inquiry with them which I already did. They just seem to think time is a bottomless pit while we are here waiting for our loved ones 😡
