Oh. It sounded from your post that you didn't have it. Then read the information that you have on Peru and begin working toward your interview. Remember case files will not go out till next week and we don't know what day because of the holiday. Check your status at ceac.state.gov and select immigrant and enter your case number to watch the process of your file.

@Greenbaum On ceac.state.gov, to check our case status, ain't we have to look under non-immigration category? 🤔

Well, there are two ways. They can collect the isp number to determine what country the computer was in at the time of submission and the other is if they ask the question and if one were to lie and showed on their face the CO would pick up on that then Oh Oh!

I recommend that you both work on it together. Once it is completed the petitioner should read through the form making 100% that his/her information is correct. Then save it and provide the beneficiary the information to open the form on their end and they then go through the document to ensure dates and names are spelled correctly. Then the beneficiary will submit the document and PRINT off the confirmation page with the barcode. That's what you will bring to the interview and present to the CO.

Is printing and taken the form with you to the interview a precautionary measure? The reason I ask is because in the Q/A section for the DS-260, it states not to bring the form with you as the officer will already be reviewing it online.

You can disregard my question. I was looking at the DS-260, not DS-160. Sorry for any confusion caused among the group.

Nope. It's a non-immigration visa with immigrant intent.

@Greenbaum I have a few questions I went to the ceac site and started to fill a ds160 after I knew my case number. However, a friend told me I should select k1 visa. My question is the following: where do I select that?I can't see it anywhere.

The DS-160 is for a K-1. No need to select anything.

Called NVC today and they haven't recieved my case yet. I am commenting to say that calling then was a very pleasant experience. I'll try again after new years unless they do email me the information.

Agreed! In fact, i mentioned to the very kind lady that some people on the internet make it their business to tell applicants "not to call USCIS OR NVC because they're too busy to deal with all those calls" she replied "that is silly and applicants are absolutely not a problem, its our pleasure to help where we can and encourage callers". They really would prefer people to call, ask whatever questions they might have because then they avoid costly and even more time consuming mistakes. I think they are fantastic and really appreciated the numbing down, directly from them of all the fear mongering some folks get up to. Take that as you will but feel free to call, don't hesitate.

Today I had my fiancé call the uscis to ask a few questions about the affidavit and we actually found out that our case was approved yesterday, but the information hasn’t been updated in any of the websites  nor has she received a letter. So we decided to call a second time and yes it was approved just waiting for the letter on the mail

This was as I suspected.  The new site shows my NOA 12/17 but my hardcopy of the NOA2 shows 12/14.  Most likely the person that was doing the data entry for the site(s) must have skipped over you.  Now that I thought about it, having 2 forms of approval notice with 2 different persons, ensures the petitioner get 1 or both form of notice.
