There isn't anything that you send to NVC. What "stuff" are you referring to? I might be able to help you out with additional information that you stated above that you are missing but I don't know your embassy.

Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Thanks

So my latest update was 2/14 when I got my NOA2. I called the visa center 5 weeks later becuase I hadn't had any follow up news. My understanding after speaking to the NVC rep was that I would get an email when they sent my packet to the Chilean Embassy. I was trying to use some of the methods you listed in the primary post to figure out where my packet might be, but no luck. When I check the case tracker it says there's "No status".

So for "stuff" I guess I'm anticipating some sort of packet that would give us the information about scheduling for his K1 interview at the embassy. Since he's currently with me on a tourist visa in the US, he wouldn't be in Chile to receive any packets of information. So as we move into this next step of the process it helps me relax if I have everything together and organized. (Especially since we're trying to arrange for him to stay with family in the city around his interview time)

OR Can I use the application ID to schedule something? This part of the process is a little fuzzy for me.

If you have a case number from NVC then you can go to ceac.state.gov and enter "immigrant" and your case number then it will give you a status. You have three stages 1) transit - shipment is in the air or soon will be, 2) received - physical case file is at the Embassy and 3) ready - your case is ready to schedule and complete your interview.  These will be your current state or status to your case file once you have received the case number.

Once you have your case number you can complete the DS-160 and the I-134. The I-134 is a document that some Embassy's require a "wet" signature so if he is with you I would go ahead and complete it online, print it and sign it so that he can take it back.

Usually I have a P3 letter from your embassy to share with you but I have not been able to receive one from another Chilean to add to my library. So, if you could share a copy with me when you get yours that would be great.

Now what I have been able to find for you to begin getting things together for the interview is the following:

Hey everyone! We are waiting for visa to be approved after sending in the documents for the green slip/final processing letter. Our NOA2 said it is valid until April 14th. If we don’t get an approval until then, would we need to apply for some kind of extension from the embassy or is it automatic? We already interviewed and they said we wouldn’t need a second interview and we mailed in the passport with the docs btw.

It will be extended automatically from the Embassy.

Ok sorry. I got a little excited because I got an NVC email in the middle of the night from NVC stating my packet is "at the NVC" rather than the other 3 options. Can I use the NVC case number for the DS-160 and I-134, or would that require another case number from the embassy?

Packet 3 I think is what I'm referring to as stuff in the first post. Is that sent to my fiances country?

If you have your NVC case number it can be used for DS-160 and the I-134, which I don't think you need a case number to complete the I-134. Embassies do not issue case numbers. That's a function of NVC ONLY. Packet 3 is what you receive from your embassy that list all the requirements that must be prepared and brought to the embassy on the day of your interview unless stated otherwise within the P3. The P3 is normally emailed to the beneficiary.

Hey guys, quick question.

When we were applying for the K1 I was using my fiance's parents' address every time I was asked "address where you intend to live". We always knew we would rent a place as soon as I arrived in the US, but obviously we didn't know the address for that.

Now we have rented a place and we have a new address. I'll be filing for AOS soon and I'm going to use this new address. My question is: do I need to notify USCIS about my new address BEFORE I file my papers or should I just go ahead and file my AOS with my new address?

Thanks!

btw @Fernanda R Sanz we always use the ACTA. That's the only one that's valid.

Thanks! I found a translated version of a certified copy of my birth certificate that I had done in Australia back in 2015. Would that be good? The translator is a certified one and I don't think a translation would expire. I'm just not sure about it being a translation of a CERTIFIED COPY (by a notary in my country) and not the original one. Would that be ok?

If it meets the requirements as outlined by USCIS then it should be OK. A translation or a BC does not have an expiration date but hey we are dealing with governmental robots. No one can predict what they will say. I'd say go with it if it meets the requirements.

Quick question for anyone who already had interview. I just checked the status on the ceac site and it says “administrative processing” and says it could take several weeks or longer. Does anyone know if this is normal? just had my interview this morning

Just about everyone goes through this process.  Based on the discussions I had with the case officer he informed me of the steps to complete the processing of your visa:

the first AP is the immigration unit doing the paperwork for approving the visa

the first ready is a notice that they are finished and the paperwork is being sent for visa issuance

the second AP is the visa issuance people doing their own paperwork

the second ready is that the visa has been issued and is currently being processed for delivery

Then "issue" is posted and the visa has left the BIG house to YOUR house.

Once you get that second ready, it should be sent out within a few days, although we received our visa before any of the various websites that allow you to look up the status said that it had been sent out.

Hi everyone! I've been really bussy designing and working on my wedding dress, sorry for not being arround here helping.

Wanted to say a big THANK YOU! To everyone in this group that helped us getting our visa approved 😊.

I also want to give a special thanks to @Greenbaum, dude you always know everything, you do that extra step to help others, thanks so much, many times my fiance and I didn't know how to move forward with our paperwork, or got frustrated and you really helped us out. ❤

I try to share all the knowledge I have plus my experience with others that are starting this jouney or are in stages I already been through, just to try to give to others what you gave me, the chance to reunite and start a new chapter in our relationship as husband and wife ❤

This is the ultimate chalange for a couple, we feel so blessed. Never give up peeps! No matter how frustrating this process could be, here we are to make you reunite with your loved one. ❤

Thanks and now a new journey starts AOS!
