Hi all!!! I hope they are well.

@Greenbaum I have a doubt, in my DS-160 I mistakenly placed NO, in the question about if I lived for more than 6 months outside of my country after the age of 16, I only discovered it until today and we are very scared by the impact of this response in our interview, since it's tomorrow. We have documentation of migration, police certificates and what is necessary to support my time in Mexico, do you know of any case or what can happen? 😥

You can be denied for not telling the truth.  I wish you brought this to my attention sooner whereupon we could have fixed. Tell the CO at your interview BEFORE they ask about it.

this leaves us destroyed ... immediately pass the documents should I tell the CO that I had an error in my DS? Denied??? they do not give it to me definitively and it is necessary to do that process or I can not apply again? 😢😢😢😢😢💔💔💔💔💔💔

Calm down and reread my post. I send it could and I said to tell the CO as soon as you can and not after they bring it up.

You said your interview was today so I am not sure if you have time but you can create a new DS-160 with all the correct answers and then bring it to the interview. This action has no affect because you will hand the confirmation to the CO of the new DS-160. Let's get through this interview before we starting think of what you will do if your denied.

Hey everyone. Now that I am getting closer to my interview I started thinking about the DS160 I submitted in January and I may have made a small error on it. I am wondering what would be best to do in this case since I still have 2 weeks until my interview. I thought I had saved the application but I guess I didn’t because when I go to the CEAC site to upload it it says “session timed out”. I’m not even sure if I made any error at all (just couldn’t remember) because I can’t go back and check. Should I submit a brand new DS160 just in case? Extremely frustrating situation as I cannot go back and check

I managed to retrieve my old application and submit the changes. As far as I know, I just bring my new confirmation page to the interview, correct? As well as the old one just in case they ask

Bring only the "NEW ONE" and submit at the interview. DO NOT bring the old one as it only confuses things.

Thank you greenbaum. I submitted the old one with my packet 3 documents back in February. Should I still only bring the new one?

Yes as that is the one you want the CO to see the correct information. Like I said it confuses everything if you present both. They want only ONE the correct one unless of course you want them to use the old one and face a denial at your interview.

Cálmate y vuelve a leer mi post.

Hello Friend @Greenbaum Thanks for your support and advice, it was very useful.

Upon entering the embassy with the first filter report of the error in my DS-160 the person was very kind and left a note, in the same way I reported it to the CO in the middle of my oath, he was very kind, they kept my passport but they asked for an additional document from my fiancé, he had problems that took him to the court in Texas, in the document in one of them he had follow-up from 2011 to 2015 where he says UNSATISFACTORY TERMINATION. In the document there is a paragraph that says:

"deferred adjudication of guilt terminated, defendant charged, case dismissed defendant completed community supervision and a dismissal and discharge may not be deemed a conviction (Felony or misdemeanor) for the purposes of disquialification disabilities impose by law for convition of an offense".

Do you know what happens with this? Will we be fine with our process?

Thnaks. ❤️

You don't say what the "charge" was for so it is hard for me to comment. In a forum like this you must be careful of what you are willing to release. Most who have a conviction are asked to provide additional information and can lead to either a visa issuance or a denial. Denial happen when the "crime(s)" that fall under what is called moral turpitude. Here is some information that may help explain it. I am not a lawyer nor do I advocate legal advice for any individual. My information is shared with the caveat that you may want to contact a lawyer for additional help if you deemed it necessary. If you feel you need to discuss further, I'd advise that you PM here on VJ so we can converse privately.
