Hey guys! Just letting you know that my fiance and I landed in Houston a few hours ago and everything went great. They took us to secondary inspection only to open our envelope and check out passports, that was it. Then they told us about the 90 day limit and the aos. (By the way, is there an aos thread? I'm lost in the process).

They were all very nice and the whole thing took no longer than 15 min

@Greenbaum do you know if there is another way to get your nvc case number? We tried calling them the whole time but it’s too busy and they keep asking us to call back later. My fiancé is “out” to sea in a while so it’s going to be hard this way. Weird thing is: got my package already (which I will send you) but is the nvc going to send me something with my case number!?

Yes the may send you if you register for email and by mail typically to the petitioner. Details on first page first post.

Hey everyone! Quick question. Does anyone know if it’s important for the US petitioner to have 6 months validity on passport? My fiancé’s passport expires in June and we didn’t want to update it until after my interview (which is in April) because his current one is the one we have photocopied for the interview.

Also does anyone know if it is important for the US petitioner to change his address and if so, how? I’m worried because he has his parents address for some documents (where he used to live) and has recently moved. We put his parents address down for the mailing so not worried about that, just unsure if this is something small they may care about in terms of physical address. Thanks everyone :)

Makes no difference.

Thanks everyone :) You can use his parents address as it will not impact the interview in any sort of manner.

You can submit your change of address online, or call USCIS's customer service number, 800-375-5283, to change your address. You can also complete Form AR-11 (available at www.uscis.gov/ar-11) and mail it to the address listed on the form.

Hope this helps.

Thank you Greenbaum. I just realized his parents address is the one used for his income tax returns but we did not list that on the past addresses in the 129F. Do you think this will be an issue or if they will question it in the interview? So now we have a few different addresses (parents, his new address, old address) and I’m wondering if they will give us any trouble. Not sure if it’s even important at all but just over analyzing everything and stressing a bit as we get closer to the interview I guess ahah thanks again.

I already send an inquiry, 2 emails and calling every day with no luck. Fiancé is deployed now so calling is kinda a pain in the but from Holland. Do I need the case number for the ds-160 and when do you need to pay the fee for the ds-160?

Make the address corrections through e-Request. https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayTypoForm.do;jsessionid=abcIkx3AiL4bjbP5StYLw?entryPoint=init&sroPageType=typoError

Be sure to properly list the address's on the DS-160.

Relax, you're not going to get denied maybe an RFE but not denied.

You don't need to be calling as they will send a notice when approved. The notice goes to the petitioner so I hope he has a place to receive mail in the U.S. How's that going to work for you? You'll need to complete the DS-160 and use the NVC case number to complete. Once you have the DS-160 complete then you will print off the confirmation page and use that number to follow your case after NVC on ceac.state.gove.

Got it! Thank you so much. He’s not home for a long time but the nvc gave me everything just now. Got my medical scheduled too. I’ll send you the email today.
