Hey all! Hoping everyone waiting for an interview date gets theirs this week! I’m wondering if anyone knows what they mean on the interview documents checklist by “copy of US petitioner status in USA” and “copies of documents proving petitioner’s US domicile”. My fiancé is a US born citizen and has lived in the US his whole life so not sure if we need more than his birth certificate? Also, he just has a wallet sized certificate that states his birth details and both parents names. Do we need a “long form” birth certificate or anything more than that to prove domicile?

thanks in advance!!

Thanks! Here waitting for the Embassy to open new dates for interview, still working on packet 3. I believe a copy of his passport biography page and birth certificate should be enough. About "copies proving petitioner´s domicile" could be a bill under his name showing his home adress? In Argentina we are not asked more than birth certificate and passport.

But check with the US embassy in your country because some things vary from country to country. Hope this helps you out 😃

Copy of his passport bio page and a utility bill showing his address should satisfy the domicile. I guess you would use the passport for the status. Those are a couple of curve balls that no other embassy ask for. Mmmmm goood luck.

The VJ terms of service request that you speak English in any thread that is not "tied to your country" So, you could speak Spanish in a thread that was dedicated to Dominican Republic for instance. Thanks.

As far as I know, petitioner must show birth certificate and passport copy of biopage, so for sponsor I thought I need the sponsor birth certificate or citizenship  and passport bio page, to show he is actualy a US citizen, my doubt is for interview they ask originals, but we´ll not able to have the co sponsor´s original citizenship document, some people in this webpage told me to have a copy of citizenship and passport bio page signed and dated by hand.

See below.

Honestly, I would suggest to verify that with the Embassy.

That might be a country specific requirement I guess. Although the Embassy in Warsaw was not interested in the co-sponsorship papers I did have them on me. But it was just affidavit, employmet letter and bank account statement. All of above where also outlined in the Embassy guidelines on what to bring to the interview.

Emailing the embassy is ok but really just need to use the P3.

I agree with Met, probably best if you email the embassy.  I know for the petition, you send in a copy of the petitioner's birth certificate or passport as proof of citizenship.  At the interview, my fiance was never asked to show my birth certificate or passport.

Hey everybody! Question, we have our interview next week and we don't know if our Single Statement needs to be updated. It is dated 2016 and has no expiration. Should I get a new one or am I good?

Refer to your P3 packet from the embassy for all required documents. Don't bring the kitchen sink with you. Only those in high fraud embassy's may want to pad a little more but for others it's not needed.

Thanks for that quotes   @Greenbaum, we just want to be ready for any situation. Packet 3 doesn't say what prooves you need to add, just mention some as example. We'll show copies signed and dated by sponsor. One question, does my fiance have to sign all the affidavit of support copies from sponsor beside the sponsor?

No. That's not needed. Signing doesn't do anything for the process. Just sign once on the signature line.
