My account was created by a customer care agent from the US government website two months ago when I was just doing some inquiries online. The agent asked for all the details n created it n gave me the login n password. 🙄 I have already wrote them 5 times about the problem and they jus asks me to contact the embassy. The embassy number always goes on voice recording. Mailed to the embassy but just cudnt get a clear answer.

Yes! Every embassy has different way of doing and probably different courier service based on the country. But I guess common part is registering the address thru cgifederal website. I just cudnt find the k-1 visa option under the address registration. 😒

@Greenbaum, my income is way above poverty level & I hve read that I don’t need to take any asset info in that case. But just bcoz my income source is SSDI & pension I’m thinking of taking my asset info too to be on the safe side. But also read recently in visa journey of income is sufficient it’s better not to show any savings / stock value. That makes me wonder if there’s any underlying issues if I do show all these assets ..please help me get a clear picture.

This is going to be card game between you and the embassy. You hold your cards close to your vest and only show what you need to pass the financial section and the interview. So you probably won't lay down an ace when a Jack Spade will work. I think you know what I'm talking about.

I don't understand why would it concerning to show all your assets for interview?

I read his post my question is why would it be better to not show your assets and savings? Why would there be a reason not to show it? How will that effect you negatively?

DS-160 correction / exception question... please help

Extremely unfortunate mistake... my fiancee was working and providing phone support for a USA business.  But that USA business contracts that support to X business in Bogota.  Unfortunately she put the USA business and not X business.  Long story short is... the business name is not correct.   US Embassy gave a relatively vague-ish response.  Rest of DS-160 is correct.

We have already submitted the DS-160, got the confirmation, have the medical, plane ticket/hotels (for me to go to interview with her) booked, interview booked for less than 2 weeks, etc.   Is this something that we need to cancel the appointment and submit a new DS-160 over or is this something where bringing a work contract and letting them know is okay?  Really trying not to overhaul this entire thing over a small error with contract proof in hand...

Thanks for any guidance

Hi ujones... read this but then it was deleted?

My understanding is that after a DS-160 is submitted / appointment made, you cannot modify it.  My question is... can we just bring the form that shows the business name and we are good... or do we have to cancel the anointment, submit a new DS-160 and go to the appointments again?  Seems like a huge waste... but I get it, the employer name should be X when it's actually Y... even if the rest of the document is correct.

You should fill it but I don't think they are going to look at it. But let's not leave much to chance. Just prove that you are way over the income and you will be fine.

He falls in the category of way more income to past the litmus test for the poverty level then is needed. Others would report the "Kitchen sink" just to get to the poverty level. Let's just say we will leave it at that.

@tony1986, sorry I deleted my suggestion as I really wasn’t sure if that was a possible solution. So didn’t want to confuse you more
