Okay, my husband and stepsons interview scheduled for June 27th has been cancelled. We just received the letters today. We thought they were the APs we have been deperately waiting for! Anyway, we have never received any emails and no touches since April 24th. We're kind of worried now. I know some people showed up for the interview even though they were cancelled and the interview proceeded as planned. Others went and were turned away.

WHAT DO WE DO?

Should we play dumb and show up anyway? Who knows, we may get a reschedule notice in a week (some others have had this happen)...

Or, do we go to an Infopass appointment to find out whats going on?

...OR, does this mean we may get transferred and not need an appointment?

Or... ok, I'm out of ORs.

Any feedback will help!

Thanks AGAIN!

J

Go to it, pretend you never got the cancellation notice. There have been people who didn't go b/c of the cancellation notice and got denied.

are you close to your local office? that would make the difference to me not to mention those who were denied due to failing to apppear only received email notifications vs. letters via snail mail.

Yeah, we received the letters in the snail mail, but it wasn't on the "nice" greenish NOA type letter paper. Just plain white...

They were dated May 17, and were sent from the local office in Milwaukee. It just so happened that my husband was at another infopass for an Expedited AP on the 17th and he mentioned to the officer that he MIGHT have to change the appointment date for the kids. His court order says that the children are to start their summer break on June 18th and the interview was scheduled for June 27th. That night, he asked his ex-wife if he could bring them up after the appointment because he didn't want them denied for a no show and she has agreed!

Would the local office change the date based on the fact that he told the officer that he MIGHT have to change the date for the interview?

Oh, by the way, we live only 15 minutes from the local USCIS office and e have never received any emails for any of of the updates.

Any ideas?

Thanks yet AGAIN!

We got the same "due to unforeseen circumstances" cancellation. We went to appt anyway, in Chicago (since we live in Chicago). Did not have interview. However, two weeks later we received approval of AOS (green card), without interview (I don't think our showing up for the canceled interview had any bearing on subsequent approval). If you live close, it can't hurt to go.

When I had my AOS they sent me the appointment for November 04, then they cancelled it, they re-scheduled it for December 04, they cancelled it again, then they sent a third one for January 05, I was all nervous by then and I really did not feel like working more on the file that you have to present to the interview. This time I went to the interview.

I had an easy interview, a few questions and no harassment at all, when the lady who did the interview stamped my passport, I asked about the reason for the prior 2 cancellations, she just said that MSC was scheduling the interviews at the district offices and if the district office could not do it because of too many interviews programmed, they will cancel the interviews and MSC will do it again.

I think is annoying and it adds time to the process, but is not too bad, just be patient; these processes will require a lot of your patience. Good luck!

OK,

It seems like the concensus is for us to go to the originally scheduled interview. Do you all think we should just play dumb and go? My husband agrees with going to the originally scheduled interview, but he was also thinking of making another infopass to find out why it was changed.

What do the wise and informative VJ gang think?

Thanks again!

How far away is the office? I would just go - I don't think anyone has been turned away for showing up even tho it was cancelled...

Why go to Infopass to be told it's really cancelled when you can just show up & (hopefully) get interviewed?
