Hi, I have my medical exam booked in for this Saturday at KnightBridge doctors.

I have the patient summary with me, and all other document required.

The issue is I have had my depression in 2015, and also recent 2018. 2015 was due to when my ex-husband diagnosed of terminal cancer, and recent FEB - SEP 2018 was when I was looking after him at home...who passed away this February, (we were divorced but I was living with him to care) and I had my phase return to work from June and off from my medication (from FEB-JUN), full time work back from SEP until today.

I asked GP this morning, if she can write letter for that I am now clear from this depression, and no harm to myself or others and I am not on any medication.

However she insisted she doesn't need to write a letter, as the patient summary shows everything and the fact that I am not taking any medication anymore. and She said that she couldn't help further.

Just printed out another patient summary for me.

When I read the requirement documents from knightsbridge doctors, if you suffer from depression ' you bring a report'. And It is silly of me, I didn't realise that patient summary would not be enough. So I just requested a Full medical report at GP which takes up to 28 days.

Would it be okay to go ahead with this Saturday's medical exam anyway, and send the Medical report to Knightsbridge doctors once I received from GP?

I will be anyway going to see my Fiancé over the Christmas, If I will be booking a interview this week, I am thinking to book for mid or end January depends on availability. That then Knightsbridge doctor

should have everything in hand before my interview.

or shall I cancel the medical exam, and reschedule for January instead? ( as I already booked expensive train tickets to London which can not be refunded, I'd prefer not to cancel, but at the same time if it makes easier then I should re-schedule?)

Your advice is much appreciated. Thank you..

Hello!

You can go ahead with your medical!
They'll give you a letter after you've done everything that states that they need further evidence regarding your history of depression etc.

Your medical results will be placed on hold until they recieve that letter from your GP.

I had my medical and the next day scanned through the letter :)

Thank you very much for your reply 🙂 Thats a relief to know. Hope they will be okay with my Medical record as my GP insisted that the patient summary is all they need to show as the evidences, there is no more information other than that even my GP read the requirement of a report stating in Knightsbridge required document section. (so I presume my medical record will have the same information as my patient summary...) Awww fingers crossed. Everything is going to be okay. Thanks again for sharing your experience 🙂

My fiancé had his medical this past Friday.  Knightsbridge insisted that he get a letter from his GP wanting more information about the depression. Apparently the summary wasn't enough for them. His GP office is being extremely difficult about the letter and said it would cost £33 and take over 30 days to get. His interview is on 10/12. This is so frustrating

OP: Can you tell your GP it's not about what they think you need, it's about what the US Government wants, no ifs, ands, or buts?

Hi, Thank you for your advice, Yes you are right, I will call up the GP  tomorrow to ask again as this seems definitely a requirement. No ifs or buts. Thanks 🙂

No, we're not going to reschedule the interview. My flight is already booked and I want to be there with my fiancé for the interview.  We're just hoping it won't take as long as the receptionist said it would and that she was just having a bad day. I haven't heard anyone else being charged for a letter.

Hoping everything goes well for you both. Yes, she might had a bad day, hope she understand and be more supportive. Really fingers crossed! I've seen the price list in my GP, they seem to charge similar price, it is GBP25.00. Some GP seems more generous!
