Hello all,

We got an email from NVC stating that all the documents were completed and that they will send information on the interview date. The date on the document was 10/29/18, my wife is from India, so typically how long do we have to wait till they assign a date for interview?

The case is still at NVC and we dont have any pending documents or things to submit.

Please help us get an idea, we have been waiting for a year and 3 months already.

Thanks,

Prasanth

Hello! I'm just making sure that you applied for Spouse Visa correct? Because i would like to know the following information as well. I'm in the Fiancee Visa process, but i'm sure once i get NVC documents completed the process would be the same. Where did you originally file? I'm sorry that it has taken a this long. I hope mine doesn't take this long. I applied in October 5th - Hopefully she's here by May 2019.

Not really. K-1s only get a case number at NVC then it's forwarded to the consulate. A spouse visa has other processing necessary at NVC before they will schedule the interview.

The actual wait from Case Complete to interview would likely be about the same. The biggest difference is how the interview is scheduled....immigrant visa cases are scheduled through NVC whereas K-1 interviews are scheduled at the consulate directly (exactly how varies by consulate...some are self-serve and others may be assigned).
