Hey guys, sorry in advance if I'm posting in the wrong place but I couldn't find anywhere more appropriate.

So in 2016 I got a Massachusetts driver's license while I was in the US on a J-1 visa. The license is valid until 2021. Now I'm close to going back to the US on a K-1.

So my fiancee and I want to make sure I can still use that driver's license normally?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes, you should be able to on a couple of conditions...

1. Do you have any unpaid tickets or was it ever suspended when you lived here before. Unless it was suspended or revoked because of unpaid tickets, etc., it should still be valid.

2. Will you be living in Massachusetts? If not, you will need to get a new license for the state you will reside, each state has different laws. But transferring from one state to another is easier than obtaining a new one altogether usually. And even if you will be living in a different state, you usually have about 30 days (depending on the state) to make the change to the new state's license.
