I am an asian,  applied for H1B for first time. On May 12th I have received a I797C notice which states that payment is received. It also states that they(UCIS) will notify in writing when they make a decision on case and this notice does not grant any immigration benefits. It has been now 6 months and I haven't heard any updates from them. Do this takes this long(more than 6 months) to complete the evaluation? and also can anyone have idea what will be the next step or notice which I can expect to get from UCIS. Will it be the approval notice or what else. Thanks!

What do you mean, you applied for H1b? Where is the company’s attorney in all this? Did they explain about the annual H1b allocation and usual lottery?
