Foreign receipts

Hi all. 

 

Im beginning to put out application together. 

 

I was was wondering if foreign receipts for dinners, attractions etc have to be translated into English or can just be attached and explained?

I doubt they will be of much use.  Do the receipts have both names on them?  They only prove you were at an event.  Unless they show evidence that both people were together, they are not useful, imo.

We didn't enclose any. In fact, all local payments and reservations I've done and always do myself (because paying for something like theater tickets in Ukraine from the US is a pain), and my fiance gives me back cash when he comes visiting. We do enclose some tickets to recognizable events with explanations and photos of us being there together but without translation. Receipts will hardly be of any help.

I traveled to Brazil several times to see my fiance.  I always included a few credit card receipts (in Portuguese) without having them translated.  It was not an issue.  I didn't even add an explanation of the receipts.  I just included them in the packet.

The best evidence is those receipts that show both names. If not they could be interrupted with a different meaning. The strongest evidence is pictures of the two of you together in front of very recognizable landmarks, especially if some type of lettering can be read to identify the location.

unless the receipts have both names on them, i wouldnt bother.

 

we did include a couple of random receipts for gas for pauls truck in my town, because it listed his name and the location. also a vet bill for his dog that he moved down last year (vet account and bill in both our names). Also a sams club membership that we have jointly. Again, all things with names printed on them and in relevant locations.

 

all of that probably totally unnecessary given all our other evidence (over 40 visits, passport stamps from both of us traveling, printed off border crossing records from cbp (i 94 is what i think its called but i just got up and my brain isnt fully functioning yet), photos, boarding passes, etc), but I heavily frontloaded. we were approved in 6 months, no RFE's
