Hello,

Depending on when you want to fly, (I'm going to sound like a salesman here but) I cannot reccomend jacks flight club enough https://www.jacksflightclub.co.uk/, it'll just send you an email once/twice a week with random deals.

I saw someone above mention skyscanner, cracking website for it, Skyscanner/Momondo. I managed to get mine through skyscanner using an OTA (Online Travel Agent) for a return from Heathrow to Detroit for £445 over the christmas period.

A return ticket is often cheaper and as people have stated above just ensure that you cancel the return sector so that you're removed form the passenger listings of the trip.

There are large sales currently running through until August 2019 with Virgin codeshares with Delta also so they're worth taking a look at, if you don't mind a change over or two you can grab an absolute steal.

Sorry for the rambling, if you want to throw a message regarding flights/booking agents etc I'll ramble some more.

Also, it's good to see a fellow Michigander !!

Hi!

I'll be sure to send you a message closer to the time if we're still looking. I tend to fly into Chicago as I've found it's much cheaper, Detroit used to be the cheapest but not sure what's changed. I hope all works out for you guys!

I booked a return flight with Virgin to DC, the outward is early December and the return is in May. I'm planning to cancel the return part in February when I should have some paperwork through about AOS just incase they need to see some kind of evidence that I am allowed to stay in the USA (I read somewhere that sometimes that is asked for??). I'll definitely ask them to send an email through stating that it was cancelled too just to cover my own back.

Return was much cheaper (over half the price) and I also had to make sure I was on the same plane as my cat :)

From what I’ve read since asking this, buying a one way ticket and just showing the K1 visa is fine.

I may get a return just to be safe, I’m still undecided as it seems like there’s a rather negative possibility either way (can’t fly without a return or USCIS thinking you left on the return).

Hi All

Norwegian airlines is the only airline I’ve found that does not penalise passengers for one way flights.

For example. Gatwick to Los Angeles is £224.90. This includes a checked bag, carry on, meals and drinks, and you even get to choose your seat free. Also a direct flight so no changes.

I’ve traveled a few times with Norwegian and not been disappointed at all.

Hope this helps 😀

I booked it from the UK one way as I didn't want to risk them thinking I flew back out again.

I've used google flights to book my flights. But checked on Skyscanner and Expedia. Sometimes google has great offers with airlines when it tells you to call them :)
