yes,that is what i've learned from my friend...she also learned it from someone who applied for an immigrant visa...i think it is applied to all visa applicants....

Birth certificate from NSO is valid for a year that's according to a person I talked to when I requested mine.

May I ask when she requested it?

NSO-issued BC does not expire but embassy prefers documents that are less than 6 months old.
