Houston is relatively quick least in our experience but some have said it's been rather slow lately.

I can't say for certainty but I think you could apply for the AP with the renewal of the EAD with no problems.

Time line wise for getting it and all can vary though. Someone should have an estimate though I suppose.

File a form I-765 to renew the EAD.  File an I-131 along with a copy of your NOA from the I-485 filing to avoid a fee for the AP.

Yes. When does your EAD expire? Late August 2019? If so, don't submit the forms earlier than late February 2019; https://www.uscis.gov/greencard/employment-authorization-document:

Quote

Renewal EAD

If you are still eligible for employment authorization but your EAD will be expiring or has expired, you should file for a renewal EAD by submitting a new Form I-765 and filing fee (if required), unless a fee waiver is requested and approved. Generally, you should not file for a renewal EAD more than 180 days before your original EAD expires.

down here you all can see my timeline. I fill my case in Houston.

Your EAD doesn’t expire until 08/24/2019, right?  I wouldn’t stress over renewing it at this time. Just go ahead and apply for AP and see what happens. Good luck!

Like @Diane and Chris said, you can file the I-131 now to receive a stand-alone AP document:

AuthParole-3-787x1024.jpg

Change the first paragraph of the cover letter above:

Quote

I filed for Adjustment of Status (I-485) on April 27, 2018. I filed the I-485 after July 29, 2007, and paid a one-time filing fee. Therefore, as an Adjustment of Status applicant, I am not required to pay additional USCIS fees for this I-131 request.

And send it to the appropriate Lockbox (based on the first three letters of your I-485 receipt notice): https://www.uscis.gov/i-131-addresses

Quick question here, what if i have a Combo card EAD+AP and it is about to expire, should i be filing extension of both ? If yes what is the ideal time before actually expiry ?

The time frame for renewal is different for EAD and AP. If you want file renewal for both, you have to wait until 120 days before expiration.

I am confused about the "April 27, 2018" and "July 29, 2007"?

Why is it different date?
