I don't know if any of you remember my post from two weeks ago but my fiancé's package was ripped the entire length of one side. We had to send it back and he just got the new one today and it also has a rip in it but it's only about 3 1/2 inches. Clearly no papers could've come in or out of that rip and we are running out of time now to keep  sending it back. His POE is San Francisco SFO

How many of you have had no trouble getting through customs and immigration with a rip in your envelope? Will they really deny him entry? The envelopes that Ankara uses are very crappy.

And there is a lot of moisture in the air in turkey and I think this is aiding to the ripping He does not live close to Ankara. so he cannot just walk into the embassy.

One corner of the envelope is normally clipped .  Is this something significantly in excess of that?

YMMV

I have read POE reviews where people had taken damaged envelopes.  They got static from the agent but were processed in the end.  I haven’t seen anyone turned away.  Though that’s just anecdotal.  I would be tired of it too if my second one showed up ripped as well.  But it sounds acceptable.

I called San Francisco international Airport it's deferred immigration department. They are the ones that finish the interview if the people at the airport cannot do it for some reason. He assured me that the absolute worst case scenario would be him or his department getting the package  and my fiancé having to finish his interview in a field office close to my city. He assured me that my fiancé will be granted admission and not sent home. So I am not going to worry about it at this point.

Thanks, I asked if their supervisor could email me a letter saying that but he was like "okay..... she's crazy" 😂

We are going to go for it.

Also, I asked if I could fly there and go through the customs with him - big fat no and a second wave of "okay she's is definitely crazy"

😜

Lol i came into the airport with a ripped envelope that i had enough space to bring all the papers in there out at once :D My wife called them and they said i should come since i was not in the country where the visa was originally issued at that time so it could not be resealed. I just taped it in my own way and got on the plane, when i got to LAX Airport i gave it to the immigration officer at port of entry he did not even look at it, he completely ripped it apart destroying all the envelope, haha i was relieved and then we started talking.

I was dead scared. Another 22 hours flight back would have killed me lol
