Hi all, I'm not sure there is much we can do, but wanted to ask. Our case has reached the consulate in Guangzhou, however it seems to be stuck with the status of "Ready" when we check online. It was received there on October 5, and it is now November 14 and nothing has happened. The "last updated" date has changed a few times, and yet we still have not received anything that will allow my fiancee to proceed with the next steps. She says others with similar received dates are already scheduling interviews. I tried emailing for an update, but received a generic and unhelpful response. Is this common? Is there anything we can do? It is so frustrating to get this far in the process only for it to stall out with no updates. We just want to be together and were so optimistic for a while and now it seems like there is no end in sight. Thank you in advance.

Call NVC. Might be a case where they can actually give yiu the interview date and send you an email with info in regards to the interview as well..

Call the embassy to see what you need to do next.  Also check out the third post in the thread I'm linking below, it outlines the steps and provides links to P3 and P4 for Guangzhou.  But call or email the embassy--they will be able to tell you what's next.  It's out of the NVC's hands by now.

Thank you all for the replies. We have tried calling and emailing the consulate. When she called they gave her no information. I also emailed previously and received a generic response to wait for them to send her a packet with instructions for submitting the DS-160 and other documents. The frustrating thing is waiting with no idea when the next step will be and how to find out the actual status. No one at the consulate bothers to actually look up our case and just says wait. If my OP was unclear, I was asking if there is an alternative contact for the consulate besides the email form on the website or a way to get an actual reply from them about the status.

Tell me how long  it took you to receive NOA2 after NOA1.  It took us over 3 years to receive NOA2 after NOA1. For your case, please be patient. You have to understand that the general consulate of America in Guangzhou got hands full work every day. They are working very hard to get their work done. I was there last week for interview, I saw how busy they were.
