She doesn't have a middle name. But it sounds like trying to verify that info will be a pain. We're thinking maybe trying to reapply for an SSN with the address she gave at the interview (I still get mail there) and see if it works.

That won’t help. The address on the forms while applying for a k1 won’t impact the ssn. The info mismatched must be a document, name, something else

Ok, thanks. On the application form, for the type of SSN being applied for, she ticked "Legal Alien not allowed to work", and from my research here it looks like we should have checked "Legal alien allowed to work". (although you still have to wait for the EAD to actually work). Is that correct?

This happened to me when I came in October 2016.

It IS a pain in the ### to deal with, but it needs to be done as soon as possible to avoid further issues when it comes to AoS.

For me, the port of Entry misspelled my last name.  I was SO excited I didn’t bother double check.

If it’s a mismatch, are you close to the PoE to have it corrected?

Once it is, you have to go back to apply for a SSN.  Then once again to change her name if shes doing that.  I had issues every step of the way.

How did you find out? The information is correct on the I94. And yes, we're not too far from the POE.

I found out when I waited 2.5 hours at SS to have my number called and then after she processed it, she told me what the mismatch was.

It’s weird that they wouldn’t say what the issue was.  The address shouldn’t matter.  My husband filed the i129F using his mom’s address (which is where he was living), but we lined up our own place a week before I came, so at the PoE I gave them the one where we would physically be living.

My only guess would be a mismatch of critical info like name or dob.  It’s very possible that perhaps the associate at SS manually typed something wrong?

Either way, go back to PoE to confirm all information in the system is right.  Then wait a week or so for it to update, and then try again.

Its frustrating but it does get better.

Note that you may be able to go to a POE, but also look at a CBP deferred inspection site as I noted earlier. They can effectively do the same thing to verify/correct information.
