Anyone here just to see what was inside? lol

No it says do not open and if you do it has to be resealed which delays you.

Of course - I know this.

I'm referring to OP. Wondered what was in these envelopes we're not supposed to open.

Well apparently the father opened it.  Who knows why.

Seems odd - I just wondered what was actually in the envelope since it's something none of us will ever see.

Contact the embassy to get it resealed. Do not let them tell you to... stuff everything back into it and "what ever happens at the border is your problem".

Part of all of this comes across as a troll. I've yet to see an embassy tell anyone to do that, resealing hasn't been an issue other than a longer wait for the foreign fiance.

Either way if this is real, contact the embassy and keep your stuff safe. This shouldn't have been something laying around to where your father could access it. This should have been kept in a desk or in your room or somewhere safe. If your father is going into your room opening sealed envelopes that say "DO NOT OPEN" on it then you have some other problems to deal with.

Just because you have doesn't mean everyone else has...

You dont say!

Okay in all seriousness, what would you think is in the envelope? It's your immigration documentation. The reason it's sealed is to prevent people from changing their documents.

There was a thread a few weeks ago where the immigrant's brother opened up the package. I don't know what is up with people's family members opening their personal mail/packages. ESPECIALLY, when the package has big red words that say "DO NOT OPEN".

Nosiness.

why is anyone other than you opening your mail. especially mail that says DO NOT OPEN

i know its been asked i just do NOT understand that concept and invasion of privacy. Even when I lived with my grandfather and was caring for him in his final months, I didn't open his mail. He opened it, then gave me the mail I needed to deal with for him (bills, etc). It wasn't until he was in the hospital that I opened his mail for him.

I can't fathom opening someone elses mail, other than perhaps my spouses, and even then, if it had DO NOT OPEN on it, or looked personal in nature (and not a routine bill of some sort) i wouldnt touch it. i would simply ASK him what it was.

I did too, that’s why I could answer earlier what’s in it. I’d be surprised if a google search doesn’t yield the answer too, it’s hardly a state secret.

After re-reading everything, I realized that you were going to get it resealed.

Do not add anything to it, have the embassy confirm that all of your documents are there  but do NOT add anything to it. You don't need to get everything delayed by having a CBP officer who has done this for years notice that your envelope is different.

With that said, as a future note, please take everything that has to do with immigration very seriously. Keep everything having to do with immigration safe and away. In a file cabinet, lock box, etc.
