Hi Guys, I'm not quite sure how they will schedule interviews for December.  I heard rumors that they do K1 Visa on the last week of every month.  Does Cr1 get scheduled on the 3rd week? Just wondering if they have a system in Sydney on how they do their scheduling.  I am hoping to be scheduled in the first 2 weeks of December as I am Japan bound on the 28th of December.  I will need my passport back if and when I am granted my visa.

Has anyone been scheduled here for CR1 this December please?

Posting in the cr1 or regional forum for Australia would be a better place for this

Interviews are held every Tuesday morning 7.30 through 12 noon. No separation of visa types to a particular day.. all visa types scheduled. Sydney has been working about 4 to 6 weeks ahead, so if you have Case Complete from the NVC, but not yet been assigned your interview date, it is unlikely to be in December. NVC will usually begin the next round of interview appointment allocations around Nov 24 th through Dec 7... and will allocate available slots to waiting applicants

Your passport will be kept by the Consulate if your visa is granted and it will be returned to you within 2 weeks

Hi Lil!!! Thank you so much for your input. I got Case Complete on Nov 6. I am hoping for an interview date earlier than December 18 as I’m going to Japan on Dec28 for a week. It’s good to know that CR1 applicants are limited to just one interview date in a month. I’m stressing out as I was hoping to hear as to when my interview would be scheduled. I called the embassy but their call centre is based in manila. They don’t seem to know much in how to help. Would you know what to do should I need to change my interview dates please?

Once the NVC has scheduled your interview you will receive emails from the Sydney Consulate which will include information on how to request a change of interview date if this is necessary.
