Hello everyone,

Please guide me

I filed my I751 waiver in July 2017(VSC ). I got RFE in November 2019 and after reply to my RFE, my file was transferred to NVS on December 20, 2019, to schedule an interview. And since then no updates. Last week I made an info pass appointment in my local office Hartford, CT. They told me right now they are scheduling the 2015 files interviews. And I filed in 2017. So just WAIT WAIT WAIT.

I am so confused. It's almost 2 months but still didn't get interview date yet. This is the last semester of my study. After June 2019 most likely I have to move where I will find my job. I am just worried what if I will not get an interview until June 2019? Because if I will change my address then my file will delay again.

I have two option

1. Move to the place where I found job and change address (it will delay my file)

2. Stay in the same address until I am done with the interview and after the interview start job.

what do you think, which option is good for me? I am so worried because I don't want to do anything so it affects to delaying my file (because it's almost 19 months) and I also don't want to take a break in my career. I am trying to find a job near my area but what should I do if I found a job in another area, another state.

Please guide what should I do in this situation? Which option is best? And approximately how long it will take to get interview date?

Thank you so much for your update. I really do appreciate it. Can you please share your interview experience? What did they ask you? Anything alarming that caught your eye?

Hello

The interview was okay. In starting she took the oath and then she saw my passport, DL, SS, and GC. Since I didn't get a stamp on my passport she told me I don't have legal status here. So I told her that I made an info pass appointment and ask them for the stamp but they told me to submit my expire GC. But for job search they usually ask for GC they don't accept stamp (becz of last name different) and my lawyer also told her that in some place like DMV they don't accept extension letter also....so she agrees. After that, she asks me my Ex husband bday address and divorce date. then she asked me for divorce document and she made a copy of that (we already submitted that but she couldn't find it) then I told her my story. She was listening. I told her that we lived in full family (inlaws, sister in law, me and Ex) And they try to create misunderstanding between us...for this I gave examples but she told that if they spent a lot of money for the wedding and to come to India then why should they do that? I explained to her that in our culture usually inlwas do that becz they have a fear that if their sons and daughter in law will be one and they will move in a different home then in their old life they will be alone. so usually they do that,.....but she was arguing and my lawyer also told that it's culture.......but anyway. Other than that she asked me how may rooms wherein home, how many bathrooms, how do we use common bathroom...? then after 1 hour she came till gate and she told my lawyer that you will be good.

My lawyer also said she was well prepared and looks like she was new. I did well just have trouble to understand the culture. But I will be fine. My officer in interview, she was well prepared. I had interview on April 10 and I got approval letter on July 3 (almost 3 months) and July 11 I received my GC. It was almost 2 year journey (July 2017 - July 2019).

Hello,  Ours is also a similar situation; we married for more than 2 years but we lived together for 8 months only because delay in visa processing and false promises.  I asked for no fault divorce; and he agreed. The guys family said If he files for divorce ; he has to pay 30% of the property so I agreed to start divorce ; to save him paying that to me. No one was there to guide me and I stayed with one of his friends place .  Soon after filing divorce  he hired a Lawyer and put all the clauses on divorce agreement and  tried to deport me. I didn't sign that document. As I was not working and no income I  was in very difficult condition. We  didn't had a  joint  bank account, no tax filling; but on the property my name is included. Have pictures of trips we made; At the moment I have a job.   Please keep in touch....

That's sad to hear he did that to you. If your name is on the property, you can use thay against him because it's technically yours too and have 50% right to it. Not saying you should but you should try keep every proof you have with him and yourself for roc
