Gold is a harmless metal and will harmlessly pass through a person's digestive system. the layer of gold on that food is so thin a person would not even know it is there.

It just makes it look expensive, and is a waste of the gold.

i think it tastes yucky. i used to make a chocolate caramel mousse dessert at a restaurant i worked at with a piece of gold leaf on top. a tiny piece is okay but when its just a plain piece in your mouth... ewwwwww! :)
