Unfortunately the person I gave it to ship sent it via first class so i do not have a tracking number to see if it got delivered. I am worried it got misplaced and am contemplating sending another application and make sure it gets sent via a proper tracking number. I can cancel the checks but don't want to make a hasty decision and over complicate it as it just might be taking longer as I applied for both my parents. Both application were mailed the same day in two different envelopes

Wow! Talk about timing, I just received a text message with a USCIS receipt number so at least one application made it ok. I mailed on Nov 5 but the tracking says that USCIS received it on Nov 15. For those who sent it via a tracking method. Does your delivery date match USCIS received date

Thanks!

Use a trackable method and pay attention to the address as FedEx (Physical) and USPS (PO Box) have different addresses. You can check on USCIS website or google where to mail i-130 to get the exact one.

November Filers:

I need advice for filing petition for my father and mother. As I understand, I need to provide marriage certificate for their marriage. (for the father).  However, they don't have one.  They are 80+ years old, and never had a marriage certificate--a common situation in India of their time.  The question I have is whether alternative documents such as my father's pension certificate showing my mother's name as his wife will work?  They also have a government issue ID for my mom, showing my father's name as her husband.  Has any recent filer faced a similar situation. Please advise!

This was quick!

I received letter from uscis which says Recieved date November 9 but it says notice date November 15. I do not know what do these mean and it says priority date November 9.
