This is Ewok's site, and if he wanted to ban the URL, he has a right to.

People need to accept that. This site is not governed by the US Constitiution, and people need to understand that.

We can't argue that Ewok owns the site, but if ownership of a site and making decisions based on that drives members away, what is the point?

And, by the way, I object to this matter being called "drama" because, in essence, it all boils down to basic rights. My rights, your rights. I have a right to say something or write something as long as I commit no violation of the TOS. Whether someone else has or not is of no importance.

But, since the matter is, as Steve says, all cleared up between himself and Aussiewench, then I'm glad of that...but one question.......................

WHY, if all has been resolved, IS MY SIGNATURE BEING CENSORED STILL????????????????????????

Diad. I am one person. Slow down please and give me time. I said that AW had sent me an email and I expressed what she had to tell me and my reactions. I posted that information and my thoughts.

This is Ewok's site, and if he wanted to ban the URL, he has a right to.

Please stop spreading that rumor. It takes away from the things that I personally have done to try and better this site. Thank you.

Because people go and people stay...it's all fluid & VJ is the collective of that....2 years from now there will be a new LisaD, and a new DM...

Because let's face it....immigration ancedotes from one's own journey are only as good so long as the info is current. And this isn't a paid-for help desk. No one asks anyone to contribute...and if one does, that's great! But no one held a gun to anyone's head.

Wow what a mess,lol One can see everyone's points. Capt Ewok is ONE person, he doesnt have time to referee these forums all the time or make changes right at that moment, give the fellow some time. Yes I realize people are ticked that he banned 1 URL, BUT he has aksed that other site for information, and I guess he has not got that yet, I'm assuming once he does, and they come to an agreeable solution, he may unban it. No one here is bigger than VJ, the site wil go on or it won't, I'm sure it will though. hard to say how this mess all started? I know when I first came on VJ off topic sure wasn't like it is now, lol but that doesnt bother me, as I do not normally hang out there, i hide in the canada forum, and count down the days until I have my beloved Tim Hortons coffee in my hands, lol The capt Ewok has always in my opinion had the best interests of the VJ community in mind,and I'm sure he does now. I guess if you do not like it, you can cease posting, it is a semi-free country!! have a great weekend

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

The capt Ewok has always in my opinion had the best interests of the VJ community in mind,and I'm sure he does now.

It's hard for me to agree with this comment these days. After all, if I have read very helpful information on another immigration forum that is not available here on VJ, why isn't it ok to post that url and help the poster to get the answers they are looking for? If the best interest of the VJ community is truly important, than I could refer them without having the url removed. Everything else aside, I just find that a strange, strange decision (and sorry, I don't believe that spam or "name-dropping" is the reason)
