Agree, hence the main reason for the compromise that created the bicameral federal legislature.  What is interesting is when a long time member of one of those bodies opines that it is time to get rid of the Senate for what appears to be purely political reasons.

And herein lies the reasoning being the concept.  No state has more pull than any other.  A state full of idiots or selfish people cannot override what a state of reasonable people want, and vice versa.  Undemocratic?  I nearly spit my tea out when I read that.
