If my fiance left Cuba to move to Brazil in Feb 2018 and he has a police certificate from Cuba dated October 2017 is that okay? His record is clean.

The US Consulate in Brazil is asking for police certificates of all places he has lived in for more than 5 months. Does he need a new one? If so, has anyone successfully gotten a cuban police certificate from abroad?

Hey! Just saw that you made another thread about the same question. I responded there...looks like I was responding while you were making this new thread, haha.

The Cuban antecedentes penales certificates are only valid for one year. You MUST verify with the embassy that will be processing your case if they will accept it....you absolutely do not want to arrive at your interview only to find out you need a new version of this difficult-to-obtain document.

I would say email the specific embassy that you will be working with and ask them if they will accept it. I was in the same boat with my husband; I thought his police certificate would expire before our interview. I emailed the embassy in Guayaquil and asked if it would be okay to use, and they said yes. I printed out their email response and brought it with us to his interview to show them I had verified with them first.
