Prenuptial agreement

So I was wondering what Thai women think of the prenuptial agreement. Do they do this in Thailand ? Would it be offensive to a Thai woman as it is to some women in the USA ? This is something I need to broach with my fiance.

I understand an aspect of Sin Sod is something like a prenub. If the man is unfaithful, dies, or does something she has money to fall back on initially, so I was thinking of explaining from that point.

I cant speak for all thai women, but my fiance was quite open to the topic as I have 3 grown children to leave money to.  She said thats my money and not hers and she will sign what ever I want.  I also told her that the prenup is protection for her.  Everything prior to marriage is exempt from marital assets and risk of loss in divorce.  Everything after that gets split 50/50, which is why it protects her too.  That's how I explained it.

I believe I have a real keeper with my thai lady.

My understanding of the sin sod is very much different.. it is (historically) to provide funds to support her parents, (Think reverse dowry) Also, it demonstrates that you have the ability to provide for her.

Because she was in the US when we met, and we have not done a wedding in Thailand yet, there was no sin  sod for us... I suppose if we do a traditional wedding when we go, we will do the typical renting of gold for the ceremony just for formality... we already have significant land investments in her town.

You're lucky... my wife told me on our first date that her money is her money and my money is her money... lol...
