I had an interview today for K1 in US Embassy, they took my passport and gave 221g form, when I asked is my case approved so she said No and then she said Yes and then your case is in administrative process and when I asked how long it would take so she said there is no time limit.

Taking the passport is a good sign. Every case goes through AP. there is no timeline for AP...could be days or months or over a year.

That said, applicants from Pakistan tend to go through long AP periods due to background checks (since - in part - the PCCs are not trusted by the US Government).

1/2/18: EAD + AP approved (no website update), 1/5/18: EAD + AP mailed, 1/8/18: EAD + AP approval notice hardcopies received, 1/10/18: EAD + AP received

9/5/18: Interview scheduled notice, 10/17/18: Interview

10/24/18: Green card produced notice, 10/25/18: Formal approval, 10/31/18: Green card received

K-1

5/1/2017: Case received by Manila (1 week embassy transfer??? Lucky~)

7/13/2017: Interview: APPROVED!!!

7/19/2017: Visa in hand

8/15/2017: POE

No they didn’t requested any documents..!!  They just give me 221g paper and kept my passport..!!

Just like @geowrian said, the keeping of your passport is a good sign and from what I’ve read your country is known for going into a lengthy AP. If they requested nothing then you just have to be patient and wait until they contact you if/when everything clears.
