Contacting US embassy?

We got the email from NVC saying our case was sent to the embassy and it is okay to schedule the interview. I made the mistake of scheduling the interview as soon as possible. My fiancée went to Manila for the interview and was told the case isn't ready and to reschedule. We got the standard email a couple days later from the embassy about having received our case.

The problem is that our visa receipt number is still associated with the first interview and the website says it is an invalid number when we try to schedule the interview. We submitted feedback on the web site about the problem. We got the auto response email saying that they will send an update in 1 to 2 business days. It has been over a week without hearing anything. The receipt number still doesn't work.

I called the phone number in that original embassy email ((703) 520-2235) a few days ago to get help, but it is basically just a call center that would only say that they see our request is in the system.

I don't know how long it will take them to fix this simple issue, another week, another month, 2 months?

Is there a better way to contact the US embassy to talk to someone that can actually help with this?

Since it's your first scheduled, they will let you reschedule it. Did your try to cancel your appointment?
It happened to my fiancé and he just rescheduled for another time. If you're worried about the appoint number eing incorrect, the call center can fix it for you.

Your request is in the system  .. now you need to be patient until the receipt number is reset.   Can take up to 2 weeks usually

You have the only U.S. contact phone number.  Other contact options are local numbers (still to the call center)  or email.   but like said - your request is already in the system.

Okay, I guess I will just have to wait another week.
