My spouse has an F1 visa, and we're about to file for AOS. When we moved to our current address (a few months ago), she did not change her address with USCIS. Should she send in the change of address form and then file the AOS packet? Or should we just let the AOS be the change of address (since, after all, it lists her current address)?

To complicate things: She's on an F1 visa, and t's possible that her school automatically informed USCIS of her move when she updated her address with them. We'll try to figure that out. Let's assume not, for now.

Also, I'm confused about whether she can change her address online. On one USCIS web page, it says that if you have no pending application you can change your address online or by mail. (She has no pending application.) But on the next page, it says that you can't change your address unless you have a receipt number. (She hasn't filed anything yet, so she has no receipt number.)

So, she can't change address online, since she has no receipt number? Oddly, it doesn't ask for the receipt number anywhere.
