Is it wrong that I'm having a fit of rage because someone from my same local office who filed a month and a half after us, already has the interview scheduled while we're stuck on "fingerprint fee received"? 😠 It is totally not right. Feels exactly like when someone jumps the queue. And I can't do a thing! I feel angry, frustrated and powerless. I know I'm not the only one experiencing this, but this delay makes me feel singled out.

On a more positive note, thanks so much to rrobin0609 and Derlon, for sharing their decoration/ remodeling pics. 🙌 I'm totally obsessed with decorating our home and truth to be told, I'm dying about traveling, to get stuff for the house. :P Meanwhile, we'll keep on buying at Home Depot and Ikea.

P.S.: How do I tag members on a post?

You can use the @ symbol and then just start typing a name and select it from the dropdown list that appears. So like @Allaboutwaiting - I don't think it's doable from mobile though.

And I know your pain; there've been people who filed in January who have had their interviews scheduled for next month at the same office as me. It doesn't feel fair at all - but then nothing about this process is. The problem is that USCIS just doesn't care; I remember in the K1 days when people would phone and mention people who had filed later than them being approved, one of the most common answers seemed to be "Oh, well that person is probably just lying." There's no answer for it, it's really just luck of the draw I think, where your file ends up in someone's pile.

It really does suck.

So listen to this I filed in November 9th for AOS in Detroit filed office. And this dude that filed on Jan 20 already has had the interview. First come first serve my ###. And I am still here thanking god I got the EAD.

And a January filer again gets there before one of us!! I think they just really hate October/November...

Also interesting that we're the 9th of November too... 🤔

Okay, pulled 500,000 cases and looked at AOS, EAD, and AP only. The data ranges from mid-September to mid-January. I created 5 data sets of 100,000 case range to help break up the data and make it a little more useful than a blob of 500,000. It wouldn't let me go any further back than case MSC1990000001.

Based on data trends, AOS looks to be going a little faster than EAD, and AP is crawling slowly. EAD has the most cases per data set, which isn't surprising to me at all. AP has the least amount (between 15,000 and 16,000 per set). There doesn't look to be any extraordinary amounts of approvals in AOS or EAD. I would say that 4-5% of everyone is getting some form of RFE on their AOS; however, I do expect that to increase across the others since nearly 10% have gotten some form of one in the first 100,000 cases.

I'll try and update this data once a week to see how things are trending. I'll create new pie charts, and since I'll have a the old data as well as the new, some sort of graph showing the difference between the weeks. I probably wont post any AP graphs unless I start seeing dramatic changes on them.

(lol. sorry if they are all different sizes)

You are awesomeeee! Thanks for putting that together!! Don't you think the approval numbers look really low? Like the first set msc1990000001-1990100000 is prob mid Sept - early Oct right? I find it hard to believe only 5-6% have been approved. Would you be able to also pull data from end of aug to early September just to do a sanity check on the % approval? I would imagine that number should be like 90% at least on the EAD/AP side right 😆😆😆

Don't forget that people applying for EAD are from all different areas, not just people doing AOS (for example, I had an EAD application for my OPT when I was a student here). I bet if you were able to just single out the AOS applicants, the rate of EAD approvals would be higher. It's great to look at the data, but I think we should all chill out, bake a cake, and go for a walk :) My big discovery of this morning is that I don't have to choose between hummus and guacamole! Turns out avocado hummus with lime juice IS A THING!

Thanks for sharing guys. Might sound dumb, but a shared pain seems more bearable. 💚

I woke up around 4am, thinking of this and haven't been able to sleep again. I hate being angry as it is basically useless in this case. Who am I going to yell at in order to force them to get things done correctly?

I bet the agents scheduling those cases brag about it, like: "Yeah bro, well, I'm already working on Dec/Jan cases" Duh! Because you skipped like 10,000 preceding files?!

Someone who filed in late November and who has the same local office is showing on their VJ timeline that their interview was mid-March. Made me sad, but I guess thats the way things go. I was so convinced that since we're in KC that we would have had an interview sometime in February. To be honest, who moves to the Midwest willingly?

Also interesting that we're the 9th of November too... 🤔

In my data searching, there was a lot of cases that were started Nov 9th. Its almost like they hoarded them and then gave them all the same date. They then decided to shove them in the corner of the room to pretend they don't exist.

You're welcome! The first data set is roughly September 19th to October 19th. I was also expecting those to be much higher than what they were. Then again, its almost 40000 cases to go through for just EAD. I did want to pull before September 19th, but if I try to pull MSC1990000000 or before, I get: Error Msg (1001): The Receipt Number is not in USCIS or not trackable. There is probably a different numbering convention prior to September 19th that I can't pin down.

I look at it as; they probably all work at different speeds. Joe in the office is super speedy, he made it to December for his EAD processing. Jan is by comparison pretty slow, she's still on September. It might get to the point where they give some of Jan's files to Joe, in order to move things along a little bit, or they might just keep things as they are.

Idk.

I'm trying to be rational about it, but I'm very tired. 😂

It would explain why my date is the 9th, when we actually didn't mail off our application until the 10th. 😂 Because if we have a time travelling packet...........

Same for us. We mailed on the 10th and got our NOAs on the 18th, but somehow we have a "Case Received" date of November 9th

Yeah, one tries to give some logic to this highly irrational way of working on pretty important stuff.

I still think our files are on the desk of the laziest agent and haven't moved AT ALL.

I dont know why it is happening but it is unfair we got families and plans and everything just like everyone else there is a kid in my timeline that applied Nov 6th and got his green card on Jan 21st. I am like wow and I am sitting here like if I get my green card by June I'll be happy.

Utterly unfair indeed. It's like they're completely unaware that they're dealing with people's lives.

We're just a number for them! 😢 *read with hyper dramatic voice*

Maybe we should send LOTS of family pictures, moving stories and a poignant soundtrack to make them emotional and feel compelled to work hard on our cases.

How complete is the information that you downloaded from the app? I have been tracking the 500 cases before mine, and I have observed that cases that change to "New card is being produced" or " Card was mailed to me" frequently lose the "I-765" or "I-485" tag, making them indistinguishable. For example, right now, from those 500, 40 have been "approved" overall, but when you go to specific categories and add the total amount of approved among all of them there are only 5 cases right now (only 1 is EAD, but a couple of days ago there were 9). Does the same happen when you download the data? Because that could explain why numbers are much lower than expected since the approved cases "disappear".
