It just saddens me so much and I love Europe! I was always a remainer contrary to my families views. I loved to get the train from Belfast to Dublin and goodness knows how that will look in Summer time when we go to NI. Hoping they sort it out asap :)

So another interesting question:

Do you plan to apply for Citizenship say with the 3 year rule or do you plan not to and just plan to keep renewing the 10 year GC?. And also does your home country allow and recognise dual Citizenship?

Expand

I think Matt is planning on doing the 3 year rule. I'm all for it.

Yeah, the voting is one of the reasons I might go for it sooner. Would need to brush up on my American History though! I should be okay with the reading/writing English, though...

When we were in NY at Ellis Island, they have the National Museum of Immigration. We of course went and some how ended up in the "Immigration Today" section. They had the civics part of the test which he passed with 70%. I absolutely love US history (legit, I would have gotten my degree in it if I wouldnt have had to write so much and if there was more you could do than become a HS History teacher) so sometimes when Matt wants me to do something I'll make him name X amount of presidents in order, or name all the states that surround Missouri. And sometimes just to annoy him, and in hopes that it will stick in his head, I sing songs about Lewis and Clark or Native American tribes that I learned 15 years ago in elementary school.

My husband is more interested in European history! I'll probably have to study myself. I've been doing the practice tests online too, but they're multiple choice and the real one won't be. I'm sure I'll be okay when it comes to actually doing one, but those ten questions will be intimidating all the same!

I hope the same; even though we have no current plans to go back, I'd still like the option and I don't want it to be tatters if we change our minds!

Just wanted to check in and say Hi!

My EAD/AP renewal was received on 11/27/18 ( Brooklyn Nov 2017 AOS Filer here). I did not know I can renew up to 180 days in advance (I thought 120) ---- and have to travel to Europe for work May 9th 😱. Looks like I might not get the new AP in time....ugh. Can I expedite AP due to severe financial loss?

Fingers crossed to all Nov Filers to get the Combo Card ASAP!

Hmm, I think you could give it a try! No harm in trying I'd figure. You are very close though so not sure if it'd complicate things. But good luck :)

Thank you! Mh...but most expedite the EAD (which I have the extension letter for) - not the AP. A bit of a tricky spot.

I know I am very very close - too close. I don't wanna complicate things either. I have an AP stamp in my Passport valid til late 2019, but I guess you need the new AP card....

Best wishes

On another note,

So I haven't traveled since filing AOS. Should I take my marriage certificates and NOA1's? I'm only travelling to Portland on Wednesday but don't want to be over the top with docs etc..

I think I told @JunkTardis to take is AOS NOA1 to NYC in December. I can't remember if he did or not.

If you left it you'd probably be okay.

You did, and I took it. I didn't need it though. Domestic travel is fine, just your passport needed afaik. If you have DL @jakejon then take that too

Thanks!! I'll take it all just in case. Would rather take it than not incase I need it :)

We treated it like a condom, better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. Can't go wrong that way! 😁

Nothing around my MSC number today!! Can't honestly complain as I'm not even at the 4.5 month mark yet as im only at Day 122. I'm really rooting to hear something by end of April fingers crossed!!

Who knows how they work but it's definitely not in their proclaimed 'first come, first served' basis LOL :P

Oh, I have no idea. The system is broken! There MUST be a better way to process something so essential like an EAD/AP! My suggestion is that local field offices process them for applicants in their districts. No doubt I'll end up in some adjudicator's pile who can fully types 5 words per hour LOL. There must be some dust gathering on them boxes after 4 months ;)

My K1 approval I'm pretty sure came on a Saturday on the new site. It was approved July 3rd but took 2-3 days to come up in new site for whatever reason back then.

I think the new site updates overnight, so it could be Friday approvals that show on Saturdays (I could be wrong). I don't think they work weekends.
