No, I know what you mean! The Cadbury's from Walmart tastes like a cross between a Hershey bar and a Dairy Milk. American chocolate to me just tastes like the cheap Christmas tree hanging chocolates from when I was a kid and tastes cheap. I'll still eat it, but begrudgingly.

In regards to sausage rolls, I'll definitely have to give the Jimmy Dean a try. The weird thing is, you'd think Sausage Rolls would be a popular item here. I think they would be, especially the cocktail sausage rolls. The American style pigs in blankets remind me of cocktail sausage rolls, but using hot dog instead

Oh man, we have a frequent argument here about pigs in blankets; imo it should be cocktail sausage wrapped in bacon, not hot dog sausage wrapped in crescent roll mix! My husband protests that bacon isn't a blanket.

And it does get to a point with chocolate where it isn't right but it's the best you've got. Apparently Galaxy chocolate is called Dove here - but I haven't had a chance to try it for myself yet!

So I have a question regarding sausage rolls, do I use puff pastry as the casing?

I absolutely agree. I've had this argument as well. Since the UK style pre-date the American ones, as far as I am concerned we win that argument. Pigs in blankets are just cocktail sausage or chipolatas wrapped in bacon, and baked. My wife also just said loudly to me 'BACON IS NOT A BLANKET' to which I said...okay but it's cocktail sausage WRAPPED in bacon...like a blanket is wrapped around you etc.

Also, if you try Dove you shall be disappointed. I tried it thinking it'd have Galaxy's unique sweet milky taste and was bitterly disappointed. I'm just waiting for my parents to send our Easter Eggs!

Yep! I also just lightly use a little milk between the sausage and pastry to help it stick better too.

My dad's recipe just uses finely chopped (or grated, if you can) onion, sage or rosmary (or both) all mixed into the sausagemeat and then wrapped in the puff pastry. We use egg to stick the pastry together and give it a nice glaze. :)

I wish I could upload photos on here but I cant for some reason. I ripped a few ppl new butth♡les in the comments of the link I posted.

There are many comments similar to what you are talking about. Extreme ignorance.

I’m glad you take the time trying to enlighten people. I already gave up as some just deny the truth even having the evidence in front of them.

Good ol’ Dunning-Kruger effect: the more ignorant they are, the more they think they know. 😕

Btw, I don’t upload pics, I paste the url.

I know what you mean, I have almost a page long wishlist for when we go back to the UK in June/July (Provided AP/EAD is here on time). I'm planning on going to my town's local bakery and buying a ####### ton of sausage rolls the night before I fly out and take them in my carry on to freeze when we get back since they are okay at room temperature for a little while.

Hi guys! 👋

congrats to all who already received their EAD, AP and SSN! 🎉

It’s day 141 for me since NOA1 and a year and 18 days since I entered the US - never been unemployed for so long 😱 - feeling horrible - no driving license, no joint account (my hisband’s union requires the bloody SSN), no traveling. It took us 278 days from filing finance petition to receive the pasports with visas, and now this new wait is so frustrating and endless - I start feeling desperate 🥺 every month I think - it will arrive these days! - and they expand the processing times. I feel I need a miracle this time 🙏😣🙏

This is the important information here, pigs in blankets has and always will have bacon wrapped around them. Not some weird Sausage roll hybrid with crescent roll mix :P

I will be putting "Dove" (not the soap) on my snacks to try list during my first solo shopping trip!

We're having a huge Sunday dinner when my fianceé (USC) is over here next and pigs in blankets will happen.

Anyway, back to scanning through for AOS timelines thank you :)
