I can't get an infopass here in NY, the field office page says the office doesn't take any walk-ins or appointments for Infopass. I just sent a request about missing mail, should get an answer mid April, so we shall see. 
And about the fingerprints at the border, yes, I did that as well, but what I was saying is that when I was in Brazil last June, I had to go to the US embassy to do my biometrics there, and interview, because I got my O1 approved while in the US, so I didn't have the visa in my passport yet to get back.
 

Oh, interesting, then maybe that's why. I am still not sure it's the same thing, I never got biometrics done to get one of my previous visas, I went to the embassy for the interview and they got my fingerprints but not with the same detail they did during the biometrics appointment.  I had the H1B visa interview last May at the Embassy and still had to do the biometrics in Jan here. In my "Fingerprint Fee Was Received" status, it says "We mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case". If yours says the same, you´re missing some mail from them. 

I hope they reply to you soon! I am NYC too, so slow ugh

Until today I haven't got any other update, and still haven't done my biometrics.
Is anyone here still waiting for the biometrics appointment too? 

One side note, I went back to Brazil last June to get my O1 visa stamp in my passport, so I had to take my biometrics there for it. I wonder if since they took my biometric in such a recent time, it's already in the system and that explain why I haven't got any notice?

I came here as an F-1 the fingerprints that they took for you as an F-1 student or O-1 have nothing to do with your AOS application. You have to be subject to a fingerprint for all immigration adjustments. It is not only for background check but in order to establish your identity.

Maybe the more productive officers are working on November maybe? I do think they will plow through November in April as I think the earliest December filers will be within their 'normal processing times' as of mid-April just scraping 4.5 months. So they gotta get their skates on I would think  

I really agree with your posts. This makes no sense there is no first come first serve. When I use the app tracker it looks like there are some cases all approved and then. There are other spots with 100 cases none of them approved. I applied my EAD Nov 6th, still no reply still no update still nothing.

Same place as you, Nov 9th, and nothing here either (though others have been approved from the 9th!)

 

I can't help but hope to be one of those mysterious no online update cases where my EAD just appears in my mailbox (though that'd also be really frustrating!)

My received date was 11/23 and had my biometrics 12/21. Hopefully, you'll hear back soon. Better to check it out then not incase it causes any delays-hope it doesn't for you

I think the numbers they assign are interesting too. I did notice yesterday that there's like a small handful of numbers; say 200 after my number where it says 'received 11/06' for example.  I always assumed they would be in numerical order in relation to received date.

 

Although in saying that I just noticed that it was mainly around my date but I'm not sure if these are rare anomalies. I'm only thinking from the K1 I just knew them to be in chronological order (which I know they are for the most part).

High schools need to offer immigration education classes. Only upon passing those could one apply for government jobs (related to immigration or not) or those in the media.

 

Good point. However, until you get into the immigrant situation you can't understand. I am pretty much sure most of us used to be clueless about the stress immigrant go through.

I think I just mean that it would bring more of an understanding of the immigration situation in the US for all. Times are definitely strange in the US and I know that educating ppl may bring understanding and that can only be a good thing.

True, I would said educate people worldwide because this problem is not in the USA only. Immigration laws are almost the same everywhere in Europe and USA. More people should be educated and be aware of the stress immigrants are under going.

So, non related to immigration, I have a request for everyone who's willing to share. 

 

Some background first: when moving to the US, one of the things I was so looking forward was decorating our place and making it feel like home, adding things meaningful for us as individuals and as a couple.

Decor is what has taken most of my time since I arrived, and as we're still in no way finished, some inspiration is always welcome. Unfortunately, the inspirational images I find on the web are this unreal, hyper polished non inhabited places that almost always lean towards the farmhouse/hobby lobby/fixer upper look...and that gets boring after a while. 

 

So the request is for each to share a pic of the room, corner or detail that decor wise, you enjoy the most.

Aw @Allaboutwaiting I'd love to help but my husband purchased the house not too long ago and we're still in the middle of renovating. Our carpet looks like someone died on it and we have a treadmill in the living room and a squat rack in the kitchen. 😂😂

Hahaha our house carpet also looks like a crime scene. I want to change it to wood floors or a vinyl wood looking floor. 

 

I’m not also a fan of spiders, and spiders loves California weather. I’ve killed 3 black widows already, good thing is their outside.

When we renovated the kitchen we replaced the vinyl floor with porcelain tile that looks like wood. It looks super real and it's easy to take care of, we love it! We want to get rid of all of the carpet and replace it with the tile.

 

The spiders drive me insane, they're everywhere!! Our garage is pretty much a spider cave. Also with all the rain we've had ants trying to get into the house CONSTANTLY. So gross.

Is anyone seeing any movement from scans around their dates? I'm not. I'm either thinking (and jesting as I'm saying this):

 

(1) They are having too many ciggie breaks or...............................

 

(2) It's a half day cause they have such a hard work life
