Mid july.... I'd hope May or June. Im not even 2 months in waiting for it for my wife, and it's pissing me off more than it does her. lol

Yeah i had that heat thing, i hate it, so i get dizzy if i stay outside for too long. And the altitude is a thing there too. out of a plane my friends an i went to the gym to shootaround bball. i was exhausted after 20mins lol and couldn't understand why.

I'm sure we can all relate to the 'wait' - it is so hard. I found my 100 days to go by pretty quick. But then when I hit 100 + it seems every day drags. If the NBC really pick up, you could be looking a little sooner than July. I would imagine they will start December trickling through sometime in April (maybe late April). I always have that anxiety thinking I'm going to get left behind. I don't want to start working til end of May as I'm going to look after my sister in laws kids over summer break so can't get job before then or during then. But I just want to book a trip to the UK for late August/September time - seen some great deals. It'll be a piece of mind if I know I'm going to the UK at that time. I miss N Ireland so much ❤️

Congrats!

Kinda confused... can you apply for a job even if you don't have your papers yet?

Sure but your employer will have to wait until your EAD and SSN are approved before you can work.

I was bored and anxious so I started contacting people in my industry. I was just honest in telling them about my immigration status and the expected timeline of my EAD. Most companies have month long hiring process (3+ interviews & exams) so I figured the perfect time to start was two months ahead.

Oh I believe that was me that said the above! I don't doubt that there is more expensive states and cities than Vegas but most people I would think go through financial hardships waiting for EAD/AP.  We manage our budgets thoroughly on our budget spreadsheets daily to do the best we can and we certainly don't live beyond our means. Nevada is a beautiful state to live in. But who knows if we will ever move in the future! I have my eye on Seattle. P.S that seems crazy regarding taxes :)

Seattle/WA is lovely! I've been here for 2 years and it is by far the best state I've lived in.

....Just make sure you finish up your AOS before moving here....Seattle filing office is horrendous <_<

Popped in to say hi (Late January filer)!
Happy to see that some EAD/AP's are creeping in on November. Congratz to those!

Someone said Vegas is expensive to live in with 75k.. Try that in NJ lol. It all comes down to money management. Taxes in NJ are INSANE (8000-12000) so if you get a mortgage, taxes most of the time are half of monthly deductions lol 1k for mortgage, and 1k goes for taxes..

We're moving to Mt Laural. You're scaring me.

Welcome lol.
yeah property taxes in NJ are just ridiculous.. My parents got a medium sized house by NJ standards in decent neighborhood, 9k just in taxes a year. Our neighbor pays 12k. so that comes out literally a grand a month just in taxes, then add utilities, internet, and by other states standards, you should be able to get a 5 bed, 3 bath, pool , 2500sq ft house for same price you pay a month incl taxes and everything else..
I literally looked up houses in Vegas, not sure about towns or locations which are good or not, but for 250-300k you can get a large house with almost what i said above, while in NJ.. That should start equalling out though as NJ got $15 minimum. well raised to $15 in 5 years gradually. Love-hate relationship here with NJ.

Yikes. Well I dont think we will be buying there but with property taxes so high I see why the rents are so high now. I think it's more feasible to rent in that state rather than buying, at least for the short term. That's for your wisdom.

For those who are (im)patiently waiting, my wife was just approved for her AP and EAD -- we filed on November 15th, so either they're starting to get into the month, or we were just lucky. Either way, they should be coming soon :).

Congrats! Love seeing posts like this, even if it does ramp up the amount of time I spend stalking other timelines ;)

Fun bit of news this morning:

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/florida-bill-would-allow-illegal-immigrants-to-get-drivers-licenses

I think they need a lesson on headlines; it isn't just beneficial to "illegal" immigrants, but people like us, in immigration limbo!!!!

The general population has little to no clue regarding immigration. To a great extent, we can blame journalists who can't research a little before writing articles, decide to leave information out or misuse terms.

EAD's wait times are the most stupidest thing in the world. K-1's should be expedited by default.

Agreed! We already went through the whole ordeal of the K1, so we indeed deserve some good pampering. After all, we're the ones who spend the most.

Maybe an automatic EAD/AP right after marriage. 😆 That would be SO COOL!

Agreed. In my town, I cant even speak the word "immigrant" without it being considered a swear word I sharted.

High schools need to offer immigration education classes. Only upon passing those could one apply for government jobs (related to immigration or not) or those in the media.
