Sure but your employer will have to wait until your EAD and SSN are approved before you can work.

Got my combo card in the mail today. So heads up, just to let people know what to expect, you would first get an update saying that the combo card is being made, after that you will get another update saying the card is in the mail or has been mailed, you then would likely get two NOA for EAD and AP, then lastly, you’ll get an update saying that USPS has picked up your card and it will include a tracking. That’s it!

I heard  that in a couple of days that I’ll get my social in the mail. Right?

Rooting for everyone to finally get an update regarding their combo card.

congrats!!!

That's one I get quite often too! Along with the "Any news?"

I'm sure you won't be one of the unlucky ones; April will be your month I'm sure! :D

Explaining to US Citizens who have no idea is a PITA; trying to avoid saying the words "out of status" or "expired" is a nightmare - I've had some funny looks from people before! And even then, most people don't understand that you can't just go ahead and work, or that resident does not mean citizen...

Before starting the process, I was probably exactly the same UK end! Still a little frustrating though

Yes, i remember someone asking me why I am not working. Then I explained. Then she replied "are you illegally staying here?" 😂

Fun bit of news this morning:

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/florida-bill-would-allow-illegal-immigrants-to-get-drivers-licenses

I think they need a lesson on headlines; it isn't just beneficial to "illegal" immigrants, but people like us, in immigration limbo!!!!

Popped in to say hi (Late January filer)!
Happy to see that some EAD/AP's are creeping in on November. Congratz to those!

Someone said Vegas is expensive to live in with 75k.. Try that in NJ lol. It all comes down to money management. Taxes in NJ are INSANE (8000-12000) so if you get a mortgage, taxes most of the time are half of monthly deductions lol 1k for mortgage, and 1k goes for taxes.. No other word. We're thinking to move to california, or Nevada after she gets EAD/AP.

How long on average you guys took to get EAD/AP?

Best wishes!

I filed Nov. 9th and am still waiting, like a lot of November filers. I'd say on average it's probably taking closer to 6 months for EAD/AP; but hopefully USCIS will speed right through us all and you'll get yours soon too! ^^

Oh I believe that was me that said the above! I don't doubt that there is more expensive states and cities than Vegas but most people I would think go through financial hardships waiting for EAD/AP.  We manage our budgets thoroughly on our budget spreadsheets daily to do the best we can and we certainly don't live beyond our means. Nevada is a beautiful state to live in. But who knows if we will ever move in the future! I have my eye on Seattle. P.S that seems crazy regarding taxes :)

Yeah, it's tough regardless, i'm just messing with ya. I was thinking to buy a house instead of renting. Mhm.. payments 1200 + home insurance + Taxes  and it came out nearly 2600$ per month for a 250k house in a questionable neighborhood. . Not happening, at least in NJ. Drop health insurance on top for both of us, car's insurance and even before you see your check, its completely gone lol

Vegas is great, i loved it. Heat was a bit too much, but outskirts of it were awesome. It was a lot more quiet than i thought it would be. Never been to Cali but my Best friend lives there, so got a place to start lol.

EAD's wait times are the most stupidest thing in the world. K-1's should be expedited by default.

Oh no I know what you meant! Vegas is lovely. I have a severe heat allergy so dreading when it hits the 100's. My body breaks out in bad rashes so have to take anti-histamine (prob haven't spelt name right :P ) tablets. My mum has a heat allergy too so not sure if i inheritied from her lol

I'm they will speed up with processing. what's your vj timeline show as prediction of approval? :D
