November 2018 AOS Filers

It's so sad why we wait so long when to be fair most couples tick the box and experience the expedite criteria 'severe financial loss to person'. Some do meet other expedite criteria too.

Jake earns roughly about 75K per year and that is barely enough with high living costs in Vegas for 2 people. He does have a side gig (which fills evenings and weekends) but we still find we are broke and living every pay check to pay check barely scraping through. We are definitely not living beyond our means in any shape or form.

But here's hoping the USCIS really work to slightly reduce processing for EAD/AP. I'm sure if NBC dispersed EAD's to other processing centres it could maybe slightly reduce processing times. Of course, I realise that other processing centers do process some other forms of EAD's etc..

I mean for me the medical coverage is the highest priority. My wife's medical exams cost $100,000 plus

That is insane, the US health care system never fails to baffle me.. Hopefully you will get your EAD soon. Keep faith, lots of November filers are getting approvals. Hopefully you guys will get yours any day now.

I requested to expedite the case for I-765. I am currently employed and my wife is covered under my health insurance. She has a medical condition and it will be unbearable for us to pay her medical bills out of pocket. I will soon be fired and the expedite has gone to . I must tell you guys you can't imagine this nightmare. I got to work every day and HR send me 30 days to termination update I-9. 29 days to termination update I-9. 28 days to termination.... It took me months to get this position. I won't be able to make house and car payments. USCIS tells me to wait... wait... wait... wait...

I really hope you get your expedite approved asap!! ❤️

Oh for sure! Sorry, I'm very bright eyed this morning after my coffee fix-it's a necessity!!

I've never been to Cali. I'd really love to see the South tho.

Really looking forward to seeing others approved, getting SSN's (if not already) and feeling how much it can really change peoples situations. I know my received date is 11/23 and I feel like I should be waiting in many ways as there are many filed before me, therefore more deserving to get approved before me :)

So I've been lurking around other EAD-related news and I'm surprised at some posts I've seen about people with EAD who have filed for renewals in a timely manner and are still at risk of losing their jobs based on current wait times. I'm hoping that these are anomalies and not the typical situation for people who have jobs/currently approved EAD... anyone else have more info on this?? It would be devastating to get a combo card and a job all set up, only to be terminated after because of these ridiculous wait times :dead:

I think I've read similar stories. The USCIS site says you EAD renewal shouldn't be filed until around 180 days before expiration. I would hope that if EAD processing times increased beyond 4.5-6.5 months in the future that USCIS would update this on their website so you could apply slightly before that '180 mark'. Most are lucky I would think to get a GC interview before the EAD expiration.

But again, awful situation people could and have potentially been in with the thread of losing their jobs over the head of this. Some don't necessarily lose their job and are put on leave instead until it gets approved.

I don't think mentally I could go through this wait again :(

True, I suppose many locations will have a GC interview maybe before they need to renew. I know that Seattle GC interview takes about 21 months right now, so we would likely be in the group of filers that need to renew EAD/AP multiple times. I agree though, if wait times are that bad they shouldn't make you wait to renew, I would rather send in the renewal paperwork ASAP if it made it easier.

And yes... if my husband is ever in that situation I think we'd have to seriously consider leaving and going to Belgium or another European country. I would just have too much guilt about making him go through this again. Anyway, here's to hoping that none of us have to deal with that and everything goes relatively smoothly from here on out! :)

You are right the problem with the leave is your boss won't wait for ever and here we are talking about extremely uncertain processing procedures. They ask me how long could this take. There is no certain answer to this.
