Oh no!! I looked so awful in my biometrics picture!! (stupid massive hangover, which I regretted the day of biometrics). Anyways looks like that bad pic of me will be around for a while lol :P

Oh no 😂 I look terrible in 99% of all pictures taken, but I'm pretty sure my biometrics was the worst!!!! My hair was too long and getting in my eyes...

Heheheeh I look blah, it was my second biometrics since the first one didn’t work and I was just worried that my fingerprint would fail me again.  I don’t get the you can’t smile rule, if you don’t smile, it ends up looking like a mugshot, and when you try to smile without your teeth showing then you end up looking constipated!

I actually like when I look awful in pictures; that way when meeting in person, people can think I don't look that bad.

Now, if they look at my awful pictures and they say: "ah, you're photogenic!", then, I will cry.

Oh, I never thought of it that way! I guess you're right! 😂

My passport photo is a proper mugshot; I honestly look like I've just been arrested for something 😂 My K1 Visa picture is better, but not much

Got my combo card in the mail today. So heads up, just to let people know what to expect, you would first get an update saying that the combo card is being made, after that you will get another update saying the card is in the mail or has been mailed, you then would likely get two NOA for EAD and AP, then lastly, you’ll get an update saying that USPS has picked up your card and it will include a tracking. That’s it!

I heard  that in a couple of days that I’ll get my social in the mail. Right?

Rooting for everyone to finally get an update regarding their combo card.

Congratulations!

It sucks that we can't smile during the picture taking. I always do the trick of smiling with my eyes. So the picture won't look as bad haha!

Alot of us here will because this isnt our first rodeo (ie we arrived in the US on K1 Fiancé(e) Visas). You will get an Alien Registration number as soon as your first petition/immigration benefit is approved.

No updates on cases around my date today.

However, I'm just curious. So, there are a few cases way above and below mine that were mostly likely expedited as they were approved Jan/Feb. But I was wandering, if expedites are done separately in a department or are they prioritized by adjudicators in their piles before they even touch non-expedites? Just trying to see if expedites unpreventably slow processing down for others who don't expedite (no disrespect/harm meant to any who have expedited-it's just a thought I was curious about).

I'm in no way indicating nor would want to expedite at this stage . Hope my question makes sense

Hm, that's a good question, actually. I assume they make digital copies of everything so in theory it could be done by a separate department, but if not...someone has to dig through all those files to find the right one, and assuming they don't have a separate department...that's some time away from an older application.

With the K1 everything was on the screens at the embassy, though, so I would imagine it's separate. 😂

I'm sure they do slow things down although I would hope that the ones getting expedited are people who really do need it.

I work for the Mass State government and we process "priority" applications as they come in, before we would start on any normal application. So regular filers are waiting 1.5 years to get a response while priority filers might just wait a month from us. Seems like where I work could be a similar process to USCIS!

Have you seen in this forum the people who are getting expedition for EAD. Most of them are because they have a job offer?????? How is that an emergency I don't know.

I requested to expedite the case for I-765. I am currently employed and my wife is covered under my health insurance. She has a medical condition and it will be unbearable for us to pay her medical bills out of pocket. I will soon be fired and the expedite has gone to . I must tell you guys you can't imagine this nightmare. I got to work every day and HR send me 30 days to termination update I-9. 29 days to termination update I-9. 28 days to termination.... It took me months to get this position. I won't be able to make house and car payments. USCIS tells me to wait... wait... wait... wait...

To be fair, I am sure there are a lot of couples who really need the second income, especially after the visa costs (K1, AOS, travel, medical...). I wouldn't mind them getting their EAD before someone who doesn't REALLY need that second income.

I really appreciated my K1 visa getting expedited so I was able to see my man before his deployment.

I mean for me the medical coverage is the highest priority. My wife's medical exams cost $100,000 plus
