I got locked out of the old app for checking too much LOL! If it wasn't for the lawyer taking so long to send it out in the first place we could have a slightly earlier received date but go figure!

Hoping we see few updates today from other Nov filers. I'm not seeing anything around 11/23 anymore. Interestingly, there was a case I thought was approved 9 numbers below mine but it now says 'rejected for not being filed correctly'. Is anyone seeing activity around their dates? :)

The cases ten numbers after mine and 20 numbers after mine have had their cards mailed, but the one nine numbers before mine is on fingerprint fee received. I'm guessing mine was in that box, not the one the later numbers were in! 😂

That's how I imagine our file: forgotten in a box inside a dark room, abandoned forever. 😭 Am I dramatic? 😆

Oh boy! We'll reach 120 days tomorrow and nothing has changed, except my mood :P I've been through such an emotional roller coaster.

And hope you don't mind me asking to those who come from English speaking countries: What made you decide moving to the US and not the other way around?

I'm Day 115 today.

For us personally, my preference would have been the other way about as I wanted Jake to come to the UK first for a few years. We explored that avenue and decided on the balance of everything, such as the fact he had an apartment, good job, more financial obligations than I had. so after weeks of debate that it'd be better for me to come to the US. I wanted to do the CR-1 and Jake wanted to do the K1 - again more debate....but here were are LOL!!

The UK's process is somewhat similar but much faster (obviously as it's a much smaller country).

I'm 129 days!

We made the decision because I have more friendship connections here in the US than he did in the UK; and I wasn't earning enough in the UK and there's no room for sponsorship by family or friends there. Even before that though we'd both just assumed I'd moved here, until I said that we should probably just check we were on the same page. He wouldn't do well in the UK anyway; far too cold and rainy!

I mean, maybe not forever, they would probably throw away old files after a few years or so.... 😉

But yeah, it's a bit like a game show, where you could be in any box. (Deal or No Deal, anyone?)

Instead of costumer service, the USCIS should offer some emotional support line. :P

You're not wrong.

In fact...I think I see my box...right there at the back....

Wouldn't it be great if we could volunteer to become adjudicators for USCIS. I'm woeful on a computer, so don't think it'd work that great for me LOL. I'd be like 5 approvals per day by the time I navigate around and click the buttons :P

I mean, they already have Mr Bean working for them, so there's that?

I think I'd like to at least see what on earth goes on in a USCIS office; maybe I could volunteer to work some of the holidays..............

There aren't any EAD cases around ours that have anything over than "case was received". Scrolling much further down the list there are several rejected cases due to improper fees, and one case that has been approved.

Matt moved here mostly because I had a better paying job than him. He was working in a pub's kitchen and was making a little more than a third of what I make currently. I did apply to several jobs based in the UK, but many companies aren't willing to sponsor an immigrant in any country if they can find someone who fits the bill and doesn't have to be sponsored. About 9 months after starting my job, I was in a one-on-one meeting with my then manager and I broke down in tears because I felt bad I was working all the time and I never felt like I had time for Matt. He asked if I would ever consider transferring to the office my company has in Dublin, or the one they have in London and let me know if that's something I wanted to do he'd be right there helping me get there. He has a Romanian girlfriend that lives and works in Australia so lucky for me he knew my pain. He was able to work with me so that I could switch a few extra hours that his boss was having us work during the middle of the week to a weekend when Matt was working.

My parents wouldn't have minded if I moved (my older sister moved to Spain about 6 or 7 months ago and they are perfectly cool with it), but its not an arrangement that I wouldn't have wanted to have for more than 5-7 years probably. My mom told me that I can move away, but I have to be in America to give birth to her grandchildren my kids. Maybe moving to the UK is something we'll do in the future, but right now it is what it is. If Matt's parents ever wanted to move here, we could sponsor them easily and would do so without hesitation. If Matt and I moved to the UK, my parents would use it as an excuse to also see their AFS daughters in Barcelona and Sanluri, but they wouldn't follow us.

Sometimes I picture them like this. 9358781_orig.jpg

But most of the times, I think they look like this.

If I had to confess my fears it would be that they will increase processing to 5-7 months. I really, really, really hope they don't and that we all get processed next month. I know my timeline shows end of april/May 1st as latest prediction. I'm ok with that as i don't think ill rush out as i promised my sister in law id babysit her kids over their summer break. i just want it badly so i can book a trip to the UK for september time before it starts increasing dramatically end of may (when my enquiry period will be). fingers crossed it comes for me before enquiry time and of course for all you guys way before that ❤️
