Hi regarding filing taxes, since we don't have W2 like Americans how do we justify our income for 2018? I know we need to provide worldwide income through FBFA with our bank accounts but besides that do we need any other proof for income verification?

My husband was able to receive his statements from his employer in Spain in order to reference within the 2555EZ just as it related to the numbers, but otherwise we didn't have to send anything in. We just have it was a reference.

No you dont need to submit proof of income unless they later ask.

We're timeline buddies! Also have a Nov 23rd received date. And also very confused about where NBC is at - my husband is almost at the end of his rope waiting for the combo card. I don't know exactly how much time he's spent updating his LinkedIn profile and resume, but it has to be >50 hours by now.

:clock:

Hey! Oh that's awesome! I don't even know how or where the NBC is with their processing-I think they are widely processing September (still), October and touching few November cases. I do get excited seeing Nov approvals but feel I'll be an unlucky one having to do the whole enquiry thang!!

I kind of have something lined up with my sister-in-law end of May but hoping I'll have the combo by then worst case (fingers crossed)!! I always expect the best, plan worst and prepare surprised if it comes earlier than expected LOL

I'm sometimes moan in my head and think jeez about why it takes so long but in fairness, the NBC have thousands and thousands of combos to process. Got to stay positive I tell myself :)

I have applied for EADs in the past twice they used to take 2 months top. My first one came in 6 weeks. This administration has made so many changes they can't seem to really catch up.

Oh those days are long gone now, I'm literally drooling at how it was issued so quick back in the days! To be fair, I'm only technically on Day 111- which isn't even considered yet 'within normal processing times' according to USCIS site! I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually increase it to 5-7 months in the future. I'm sure there are so many filers way before me still waiting!

Just keeping the faith! :)

Yeah it is actually really interesting to read the USCIS Ombudsman report

"Q: Of those applications that are eligible for the 180-day auto-extension, how many have been pending over 150 days? A: 19,204 applications pending over 160 days, 18,917 over 180 days."

It took a friend of mine 88 days from application to GC in 2016. Good old days! I couldn't believe the guy!

Does anybody know how to get the SSN after receive the GC?

GC interview before the combo card.

Sure. You take your GC to SSA and they will issue one in the name on your card and based on your legal permanent resident status.

Yes if you want to file married filing jointly you will have to send in an application for an ITIN with your paper filed tax return (you cannot e-file) if you do not have an SSN (see why applying for an SSN within 14 days of arrival is important?). You will also need to make a election to be considered a resident alien for the entire tax year to report your world wide income which you then can exempt if under $103900 on a 2555EZ.

Now I totally regret not applying for SSN. I decided when the 90 days was almost up! Too late! Huhu

I have a off question.

I want travel inside on USA. However, my olny form of ID is my expired passaporte.

Do do you know if I will have trouble? Because it still a ID.
